John Turturro is a massive cinephile and has a message specifically for South Korean directors: “I’m available!” Who do you want to see him work with next? Full interview: youtu.be/1nAo0MaA3PI?si=q8YE…

This is something the “Star Trek” fandom learned the hard way. Fan films exist at the luxury of the rights holder. Paramount used to be extremely tolerant of fan films, until one group tried to turn it into a business. Then the studio came down hard to protect their copyright.
Replying to @BunnyGalore
Almost all Doctor Who fan films are copyright infringing – unless they have permission from the rights holders or qualify for a statutory copyright exception. Which most don’t. Anyone suggesting they’re legal simply because they don’t turn a profit is talking bull.

I’d like to add that I hate their blurb: “From the mind of Edgar Wright.” The show was written by its stars, Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes. The fact that Jess, the show’s co-creator, is barely even mentioned is a clear indication of how little they know or care about the show.

Eric Bauza gave Daffy Duck his voice, complete with all of Daffy’s bluster and his very big heart. He understood him: the ego, the outrage, and the enormous feelings in one small duck.

Sorry, is this about how she pronounces “O’Hara”? I’m actually Irish. This is exactly how you pronounce “O’Hara”. What the fuck?
Hey @tcm and @BenMank77 not only does your Alicia Malone mock Gone with the friggin Wind for being "racist" (it isn't), she can't even be bothered to pronounce one of the most famous characters in cinema's name correctly. Why exactly is she hosting your channel?

I don't know who this person is but in the last week, it's clear he has a deranged fixation on me. He is clearly mentally ill. I'm going to block him now and I strongly suggest you do the same.
Guys like @DrewMcWeeny and @EricVespe actually believe the character David Cohen plays Because they’re goys, They can only see the mask that kicks them as they kneel… You think he’s different from Sasha Baron Cohen? They have the same last name and do the same thing, They do the Selma Blair thing and Goys gotta take it

Finding out about this on for the first time is... disheartening. I had been pushing to do a Blu-Ray of SPACED for years, so to find out that someone just went ahead without our involvement is.... a bummer. Not authorized by anyone involved in making the show. Finding out what happened as we speak...
So SPACED is finally coming to blu-ray and it's from an "algorithmic" remaster in 4K... C'mon, seriously? @edgarwright did you have any involvement in this? Because an AI upscale is most disappointing...

Watched “Clayface.” I wasn’t familiar with the character from DC, but I enjoyed the film. I’ve always loved the science fiction films of the 1950s and ’60s, particularly those about lonely men who gradually transform into something monstrous through scientific experiments, accidents, clinical trials, and the like. Richard Matheson’s novel “The Shrinking Man” (1956), and films such as “The Fly” (1958) and “4D Man” (1959). The facial disfigurement also reminded me of “Eyes Without a Face” (1959), “The Face of Another” (1966), and “The Skin I Live In” (2011). As a body horror film, “Clayface” will undoubtedly be compared to “The Fly” (1986) and “The Substance” (2024). But this is the story of a method actor who can become anyone through his performances, only to suffer a disfiguring facial injury and eventually gain the extraordinary ability to physically transform into anyone. Whether you see it as the story of a man who takes his revenge and descends into villainy, or as a tragedy, changes the very face of the film. While I was there, I also picked up a reprint of the original theatrical pamphlet for “The Man Who Stole the Sun.”

Here’s a story for you. We started filming without owning the title and had to do alternates. Taft Broadcasting owned the title Ghostbusters as part of their half-hour sitcom starring Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker (F-Troop) and a gorilla chasing ghosts. I had never heard of it. They didn’t have proton packs or Bill Murray. Columbia paid $500,000 to buy the name, but they really should have paid Dean Martin, from whom I first heard the term. In the film Scared Stiff (1953), he and Jerry Lewis (check out his acrobatic stair descent) are in an old haunted castle, and Lizabeth Scott asks Dean: “Who are you guys?” And Dean answers: “You’ve heard of Trustbusters and Gangbusters, we’re Ghostbusters!” For my research writing the first movie, I watched every single ‘ghost’ comedy ever made. Bowery Boys, Hope and Crosby, Abbot and Costello, Martin and Lewis all did such films. Happy Halloween 2026.
