The gold @ROLEX in Rocky III is Stallone's own Tiffany-signed Submariner 1680/8. He sought one out after seeing Gregg Allman wearing the model in the mid-1970s. By Rocky's third outing, an 18k gold watch suited his circumstances.
Morpheus wears @HamiltonWatch's Intra-Matic Auto Chrono in The Matrix Resurrections, a panda-dial chronograph based on a 1968 design. The digital PSR MTX released to promote the film doesn't appear on screen.
Axel Foley's watch in Beverly Hills Cop II matches the Heuer 256.006 in the 1983/84 catalogue: white-and-gold dial, gold bezel, black bracelet. The fingerprint scene shows the details clearly enough, even though the dial lettering is unreadable.
Jason Statham wears an @IWC Ceratanium Top Gun Double Chronograph, ref. IW371815, in Wrath of Man. IWC chief executive Chris Grainger-Herr has said Statham buys his own watches and isn't a brand ambassador.
Charles Xavier wears a @ROLEX Milgauss in Dark Phoenix, an amusing choice for someone dealing with Magneto. Its movement has a soft-iron magnetic shield. The green sapphire crystal identifies James McAvoy's watch as the 116400GV.
Stallone's @PaneraiOfficial in The Expendables was number 96 of 500: a 2009 Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante, ref. PAM332. The screen-worn split-seconds chronograph later went to auction with a $25,000–$50,000 estimate.
In Batman Forever, Val Kilmer flips his @jaegerlecoultre Reverso to show Alfred the bat logo on its back. Auction records put the promotional run at 35 watches: 30 steel, five gold. Bruce Wayne had a Reverso a decade before Christian Bale.
Uncut Gems is set in 2012. Prop master Catherine Miller sent back a current Royal Oak Chronograph and found an older one for Howard Ratner. It barely stays on his wrist: debt collectors take it within the first seven minutes. @HODINKEE tells the story.
Max's Yellow Racer in Stranger Things comes from @Swatch's 1984 Originals range. The yellow case is easy to spot; the date window takes a closer look. That detail is why spotters identify it as the GJ400 rather than the similar LJ100.
On Moneyball's first morning, Brad Pitt chose a @TAGHeuer Kirium borrowed from a crew member. Jeff Stein identified the blue-dial WL1113 and found three backups at $400–$500 each. There was no placement deal behind Billy Beane's watch.
Neal Page checks his gold Piaget Polo in the opening of Planes, Trains and Automobiles, waiting for a meeting to end. Later he offers it, plus seventeen dollars, for a motel room. @BAMFStyle documents the watch's change in fortunes.
Black Manta's prototype @IWC appears in Aquaman's key art. We found no clear shot in 8,467 frames sampled across the film. His armoured gauntlet covers the same part of his wrist, so the publicity image remains our evidence for the watch.
Waymond's @CasioOfficial in Everything Everywhere All at Once was chosen for his slightly hip dad look, says prop master Joshua Bramer. Hodinkee called it an apparent A158WA; the similar A168 has also been suggested. The frames don't settle the reference.
James Hunt's gold Heuer Carrera in Rush has dark subdials. The watch in @TAGHeuer's publicity photo has gold ones. The brand lent vintage watches to the film, but that photo can't establish the exact reference Chris Hemsworth wears on screen.
Aishwarya Rai chooses her film watches with the costume designer. As Sonia in The Pink Panther 2, she wears a @Longines La Grande Classique: black dial, black strap, 48 diamonds around the steel case and twelve more marking the hours.
Eddie Munson's @CasioOfficial looks at home beside his skull rings in Stranger Things. The dates give it away: season four is set in 1986, and the F-91W arrived in 1989. His watch is three years early.
Bond's @seikowatches H357-5040 gets a speaker grille for its radio role in For Your Eyes Only. In the closing scene, COME IN 007 scrolls across the display. The Prime Minister's call ends up with Max the parrot.
The gem-set @ROLEX GMT-Master II in Drake's Marvin's Room video also appears on the Take Care cover. The OVO-engraved 116758SANR later surfaced with a vintage dealer, a sale covered by British GQ.
Hayes leaves his Carrera at Solène's house as an excuse to return in The Idea of You. Robinne Lee named the watch in her novel; prop stylist Karen Neasi then approached @TAGHeuer for the film. The brand says no placement fee was paid.
