this year’s grief was the hardest in 6 years. i wept for hours the night of the 20th into the 21st. the pain felt almost as intense as it did on the day. i felt guilty for grieving that deeply 6 years later, espc since we never wedded. i couldn’t explain why it hurt so much.

Current policies put the world on course for up to 2.8°C of warming this century.
That means greater risk from extreme heat, floods and wildfires.
But this future isn’t inevitable. Fast emissions cuts can limit warming and reduce risks to people and nature.

Day 5 Report – UN Biodiversity Conference (CBD COP17): Delegates advanced negotiations on biodiversity finance, biosafety, access and benefit-sharing, soil biodiversity, and the participation of Indigenous Peoples and local communities, while highlighting the need for predictable funding, stronger implementation, and improved coordination across agriculture, environment, and health sectors.
Recommendation for Nigeria: Nigeria should strengthen implementation of its biodiversity commitments by securing predictable biodiversity finance, integrating soil biodiversity into national agricultural planning, improving biosafety and monitoring systems, and ensuring meaningful participation of local communities and smallholder farmers.

Make pesin dey pretend 16 years in advance. This Peter Obi guy is so corny.
Vote for him sha.
Peter Obi flew into Haiti in 2010 - days after a devastating earthquake flattened the country with actor Bob Manuel.
He didn’t just drop off a cheque. He donated $200,000, then stayed on the ground as an aid worker… with his son.
Was he campaigning to become President of Haiti?
No.
He was simply doing what some leaders only pretend to do when the cameras are rolling.

Nigeria’s NDC 3.0 is an important opportunity to turn climate commitments into tangible action, strengthen resilience, and drive inclusive green economic growth. The next priority must be effective implementation backed by accessible climate finance, strong interministerial coordination, and measurable accountability. With sustained collaboration between government, @UNDPNigeria, the private sector, and civil society, Nigeria can deliver lasting climate solutions that protect livelihoods and leave no community behind.
Nigeria takes another important step towards advancing its climate ambitions!
At the launch of Nigeria’s third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) and the inaugural Interministerial Steering Committee meeting in Abuja, our Res. Rep. @ElsieAttafuah reaffirmed @UNDP’s commitment to supporting Nigeria in translating its climate ambitions into concrete action.
NDC 3.0 presents an opportunity to unlock climate finance, accelerate clean energy solutions, strengthen climate resilience and protect livelihoods while driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The persistent electricity challenges are becoming increasingly frustrating, and I sincerely hope the government is taking urgent and concrete steps to address the situation. Nigerians deserve a reliable power supply, and it is time for effective solutions and greater accountability.

🔥 Nigeria must act now to prepare for the growing threat of extreme heat linked to El Niño and climate change, with projections warning of potentially devastating impacts on lives, livelihoods, agriculture, and public health.
We must invest in early-warning systems, cooling and hydration centres, worker protection, stronger healthcare services, and long-term climate adaptation to save lives and protect vulnerable communities.
