Delayed with my family on a flight back from @FiumicinoRome. @jet2tweets has been incredible in communicating updates and looking after us. Unfortunately we’re not in the best bit of the airport but Jet2 has done the best it can with what’s on offer. Excellent customer service.

Has anyone else tried to cancel a @PracticalLawUK subscription and found themselves questioning the life choices that have led them to this point in their career?

Nice to see Tottenham celebrating St Totteringham Weekend by conceding 5 goals in 20 minutes.

I could fill my days with #LegalTech demos, but when I ask for a free trial to test it out, it is 9 times out of 10 a no-go. Instead, I am offered another demo with someone more senior, so I can watch them go through a slightly different but still carefully choreographed use case

+ Just because it's #LegalTech doesn't mean I want to be chauffeured around during a demo. I need a free trial to test it out myself. Imagine buying a car and being refused a test drive - that's suspicious, right?

I am currently on a support call with @Apple. I have historically found Apple support to be the best but I am still left thinking I can wait for the day when I can just interact directly with a ChatGPT-powered support advisor.

The AI will run on a smartphone and listen to all speech in the courtroom in February before instructing the defendant on what to say via an earpiece.

We all know we need to be more productive, but how do you measure productivity in knowledge work, esp. legal work (though we’re not special)?

I have spent the last few years looking at legal tech/operations to remove the admin/low level legal work from my team so they can concentrate on the difficult work. If I’m 100% successful though my team will spend 100% of every day doing difficult work. Is this a good thing?

I heard a great idea the other day - in-house lawyers can be idea pollinators taking ideas from one area of the business, depositing them somewhere else in the business and then repeating.

+ GCs have a position shared only with the CFO - that is they can work freely across the whole business to help it succeed. It’s a shame to waste that opportunity by focussing only on ‘legal issues’. If you’re a GC, you are also a business leader. Help lead the business.

+ In-house lawyers have an massive advantage over external counsel. External counsel can only really offer technical know-how. I think the in-house lawyer need to be T-Shaped. Have that deep legal specialism but also the breadth to work across the business

Does anyone else say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ to Alexa in the hope that politeness buys some currency when AI overthrows humanity and inherits the Earth?

Oh dear, do we need tech as well as lawyer writing legal documents like lawyers? It's a shame they didn't teach a computer to write a document like the human reading it. Hey ho! Good to leave something on the table for the next generation to tackle.
The best legal documents at your fingertips. We taught a computer to write legal documents like a lawyer would. Now anyone can access the world's best legal expertise.

+ You have to say, as representative bodies go, the SRA represents (not necessarily the good bits) of the legal profession

+ If you're interested: My question was: can I call a graduate apprentice taking the SQE route to qualification a "Solicitor Apprentice" or "Apprentice Solicitor"? The answer is: Yes Was it really that hard?
