Jeremy Clarkson, James Dyson, the Earl of Derby – they’re up in arms about paying tax on the vast areas of land they own. Small farmers are worried that changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) will affect them. But who are the big landowners complaining the loudest?... 1/

Fed up with waiting for that doctor or hospital appointment? Then why not pop down to the Harrogate Medical Equipment Library and borrow the equipment to do your own diagnosis or carry out the operation yourself!

Plan a peaceful protest that would inconvenience motorists: five years in prison. Motorist drives without insurance, hits seven-year-old boy, leaves him to die at the scene. Fourteen weeks suspended. I have no words. news.sky.com/story/driver-wh… – at Bedford, England

Had a rant about the crooked Tory party on #LateNightLycett @joelycett @jackrooke WHERE HAS ALL THE MONEY GONE? "Earlier in the year they'd been in power for 5,000 days since David Cameron became Prime Minister.. I calculated how much they have added to the national debt.. It's over £300,000,000 a day for 5,000 days.. Where's all the money gone?" "Everything: NHS, prisons, schools, water, rivers.. Even the water in the taps.. Everything has turned to sh*t"

As you experience a heatwave, India, planting trees are the most effective way to cool a city. Medellin, Colombia planted 880000 trees in green corridors alongside sidewalks & canals, to circulate cool air. Reduced heat, improved air quality and health. Plant trees, revive canals

Air conditioners and cars, in the end disperse heat into the air. They both have their place to withstand heat, but without collective action to redesign cities for cooler air flow, everyone just suffers. Imagine how hot this narrow road is with all that hot air trapped.

Fiona Bruce, "The government wants GPs no longer issue sick notes, who are these specialised experts?" Chris Philp, "They'll be trained to identify what people can do.. GPs are under pressure might be a little too quick to sign off a sick note" #BBCQT So according to the Conservative party GPs are not only so incompetent they cannot decide if you are sick, but also complicit in fraud by signing people off sick who may not be sick?

I feel you. I’ve been blue-lighted to hospital when a driver knocked me off my bike. Nasty injuries, took me a year to heal. My wife got knocked off last year - just bruises/ scrapes but really traumatic for her. I am reminded of a post from a claims handler of a car insurer:

With all the evidence that measures to facilitate active transport lead to better air quality, greater footfall for businesses, and improved living quality, incredible that @northyorksc and @keane_duncan can’t convince businesses and people in Harrogate of the benefits 👇
Government report shows LTNs 🚑 Don’t slow emergency vehicles 🏘️ Reduce traffic in residential areas ☁️ Improve air quality 👮‍♀️ Reduce street crime 🚲 Improve road safety 🚶🏻‍♂️ Encourage active travel ⭐️ Improve quality of life 💷 Are good for the economy forbes.com/sites/carltonreid…

You would think that there would be more than 6 people working for Harrogate Springwater who would have supported the plans, but no👇. Hopefully this will see an end to their plans to destroy a vital part of our woodland
