Why do we only get one side of the story on the interest rate rises, @faisalislam? The government's stated aim is growth; the MPC decision runs counter to this, but you haven't said so. Exogenous shocks to inflation need not be dealt with by rate rises, you risk choking the econ.
It's long past the time when the B of E's remit on inflation was enlarged. It cannot be correct that the MPC can stifle growth with a rate rise, when growth is the stated intent of HM Government's economic policy. The MPC should not use interest rates as the sole sledgehammer.
Has anybody else noticed that @ShabanaMahmood's name has suddenly started being pronounced correctly on @BBCNews and @BBCPolitics? I wonder why?

Can’t wait for the Pgmol apology….. how many times do they send out apologies, it’s becoming a joke, how can you still be getting these sort of decisions wrong? When the whole nation and probably world come to the same decision (penalty) but the people who are hired and so called professionals in that field get it so wrong….. it’s either on purpose or simply not qualified and should not be sitting in that position to make important calls. There is no grey area here it’s blatant.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Presidents can declare war, but only Congress can vote on funding it. If the Republicans lose control of both Houses, Congress can veto the Iran conflict by refusing to further fund it.

This is somewhere between deeply irresponsible and a lie.
HMRC will be able to "seize money" from people who owe tax, aren't disputing it, but just fail to pay. That's people who cause the rest of us to pay more tax.
There have been no small boats crossing for the last eleven days. I wonder why the main stream media are not reporting this? Perhaps @BBCNews @itvnews @Channel4News @GBNEWS could let us know? Maybe it doesn't fit their agenda?
