Lagos State, well done
The Lagos Gรจlรจ Festival is a beautiful step.
Gele is a Yoruba headgear recognized worldwide!
Honoring the gele as the crown it truly is celebrates our stylists, artisans, fabric makers, and the generations of women who carried this culture, and it's exactly the kind of cultural pride we need.
This is a nice initiative coming from the Lagos State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
I remember my good brother @Alkaneseries standing firm in recognizing (Gele) Yoruba culture as our heritage, and taking it seriously when Awon atohunrinwa tried to hijack it!
Eko for show, and the world is watching. Proud of this initiative!

Happy 41st Birthday, ST, the Okanlomo of Yorubaland.
Every team needs a supporting striker.
The one who sees your run before you make it. The one who creates the chance, then lets you score.
For our generation, that man is @STinubu An inspiring leader and a dependable teammate.
Yesterday, at the ST 41st Birthday Colloquium, we did more than celebrate a man. We celebrated a generation.
I have spent my life connecting people. Yesterday, I watched a room full of young Nigerians connect to something bigger:
Purpose. That is the gift of ST.
He could have marked his day with a party. He chose a conversation. He could have kept the spotlight. He shared it. He opens doors, then he holds them open.
That is leadership. That is heart.
In my work with culture and creativity, I see it every day. Our young people do not lack talent. They need a room, a platform, a chance. Yesterday, ST gave them one.
You have done well.
You are doing well. And the best is still ahead.
Alhamdulillah.

Look closely and you will find a little bit of Nigeria in every frame.
A different fabric here. A familiar meal there. Different languages, traditions and ways of celebrating, all telling their own part of the Nigerian story.
Someone may be dressed differently from you, speak a language you donโt understand or eat a meal you didnโt grow up with, but sit around the same table and suddenly, the differences donโt seem so far apart.
That is the beauty of culture. It gives us something to share, something to learn from one another and, sometimes, a reason to gather around a plate of jollof rice.
Nigeria has never been one single story. We are made up of many stories, and somehow, they have all found their way into the same one.
This Independence Day, we celebrate the traditions that keep our stories alive and the culture that gives us another reason to come together.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.
