For anyone from the weather community interested in mastodon as an alternative to twitter - here is a list of folks who moved over there: docs.google.com/spreadsheets…
You can add yourself to this list here:

Thank you to @islivingston @[email protected]
Made it over to Mastodon as well: @iebert@mastodon.world Hope to see many of you there.
Oh - a list of which server wx folks are on Mastodon. Just what I was looking for. Thank you!!!

Here's a list of wx folks that are now on Mastodon. You can see which servers they're using. Not all are currently open to new users though, because of capacity limits.

Found a fun app called Cloud-a-Day by the Cloud Appreciation Society cloudappreciationsociety.org… . It have two cool tools: 1) take a picture and have an AI identify cloud type; 2) Identify cloud type yourself by answering questions (decision tree in background?)
So where is the weather/climate/ATS community going to move to? Time to decide, so that we can all move there and keep the community together. Let’s decide and announce that before this platform falls apart - and nobody knows where to find everyone again. Coordinated move …

Today I “hopped-on-and-off” multiple trains to make it up to Jülich, where a very nice research institute is located. We talked ML for air quality and I presented some of the severe storm research I’ve been doing

Wow - I have heard this was a great event. Great to see some pics, too. And, Rob, I had no idea that you are so tall! Living in COVID times…. Glad NOAA and KMA are building such great collaborations.
Our 1st KMA-NOAA AI Workshop on Wx and Climate is in the books! Excellent week, building community, talking science, collaborations, finally meeting people in 3D, like @DJGagneDos, and enjoying Korean food. #ArtificialIntelligence #NOAA.
