Great clip from our Fiddlesticks gig last Friday - opening number, the Danish! 🎶💚🎻🎻🎻🎻🎵💕 @aoifegranville @ITeachTrad @CorkFolkFest @FiddleFair
We didn’t sound too bad for a band who haven’t played together in so many years 🤣 #fiddlesticks @FiddleFair @CorkFolkFest

BBC News has shown a clear bias, giving Israeli victims more coverage and more compassion than Palestinian victims.
ALT These are two charts stacked on top of each other. The first shows the daily mentions in BBC News of Israeli (blue) vs Palestinian (purple) deaths. Below, is a cumulative count of the number of Israelis and Palestinians who have died since October 7.
ALT There is a table that shows words mentioned in BBC news articles and whether they were mentioned in reference to Israelis or Palestinians. It is a white table set against an orange background with lots of illustrations around it like an empty water bottle and a bloodied press jacket and an olive tree. The numbers in the table are as follows: (Israelis first, then Palestinians) husband 30 5 wife 10 24 daughter/granddaughter 35 15 son/grandson 25 11 father/grandfather 33 9 mother/grandmother 51 32 killed 1066 1630 died 82 201 slaughter(ed) 20 0 murder(ed) 101 1 massacre(ed) 23 1

Roald Dahl was no angel but this is absurd censorship. Puffin Books and the Dahl estate should be ashamed.
At @PENamerica we are alarmed at news of "hundreds of changes" to venerated works by @roald_dahl in a purported effort to scrub the books of that which might offend someone. 1/13 theguardian.com/books/2023/f…
Lush night, & delicious food as ever 😋 @CobaltStudios_ tonight💚. After so long away from Newcastle, a gorgeous way to remember how damn fine this city & its people are. Phil & @cath_tyler, joined by Sacred Harp singers, truly fed my soul 🙏, & @FaraOrkney - fiddle heaven 🎻🎶❤️

Superb theatre by @alanflanagan & @BrendanEORourke in @SilverBellPlay, at @VAULTFestival. Flanagan creates such empathy, tenderness, humour & humanity in his work, combining realties of life, love & loss with a wild sci-fi adventure through multiple realities. Stunning!💚❤️💚
#WomenLifeFreedom. Massive congrats to #ShervinHajipour for his Grammy win for this completely stunning piece #Baraye 🎶❤️🏆🎗️
Happening this Sunday: The leading candidate in the Social Change category at @RecordingAcad (#GRAMMYs) is “Baraye,” a protest anthem by Iranian composer #ShervinHajipour inspired by the mass protests in Iran after the killing of #MahsaAmini. Listen to it 1 more time. #مهسا_امینی
"The Song of Brigid's Cloak" is the Sunday Times Children's Book of the Week! Congrats to its superb author Catherine Ann Cullen, so well deserved! ❤️💚❤️🥳📚
Thanks @lynnenright @ST__Ireland for the surprise mention of "The Song of Brigid's Cloak" as Children's Book of the Week! What with singing the song at An Góilín Friday, and at Pearse St library @dubcilib yesterday with local Brigíní @CGIGirlGuides, I'm tuned up for Brigid's Day!
ALT An article from the 'Home' section of the Sunday Times (Ireland) on January 29th 2023, headed Children's Book of the Week. The article b y Lynn Enright refers to the new Bank Holiday in Ireland for Saint Brigid (February 6th this year) and gives a warm description of the book by Catherine Ann Cullen and the illustrations by Katya Swan.
