My 1st book is out!
It's FREE on Kindle til Oct 24.
It's Not All in Your Head… or Your Body.
Patients say it's all in their body.
Too many doctors & researchers say it's all in your head.
Almost no one counts the damage done by the systems we navigate.
It's all 3.

Under 8 hours left to grab
It's Not All in Your Head… or Your Body free on Kindle!
The loop we are stuck in includes the body, head, & systems we have to fight.
IMO, finding stable care (the safety section of the book) is the key most are missing.
Link is in my pinned post.

I wanted to share something elaborating on the main premise of my book.
It’s not a script for getting doctors to treat you.
That doesn’t exist.
This book is intended to help us understand why we get stuck, or sometimes get worse, even if we do all the ‘right’ things.
It's about THAT loop.
Pain, stress and system roadblocks.
All 3 feed each other until things spiral down… even when the disease itself isn't what's driving it anymore.
Chronic pain lives inside all three systems: your body, your nervous system, and the systems you have to navigate.
When all 3 work against you, getting better can become functionally impossible.
Not because you're broken.
Because the conditions for getting better haven't been created yet.
The book shows how that loop works, where safety fits in (and what I mean by safety… it’s not what you think), and how to interrupt it so it starts running upward.
It's not all in your head… or your body.
And you are definitely not alone. 💙
Free on Kindle til tomorrow, Oct 24 …
If you've ever been told your pain is "all in your head," this is for you.
It's not all in your head, or your body either.
Pain also lives in the systems around you … policy, medical care, insurance, family. 💙

Their stories are why this book exists.
They're also why I built the HD Scan (Hard Day Scan) App … so fewer of us have to fight our own homes on the hard days.
Free scan: scan.impact2heal.com
Signed paperbacks are ready, mailed straight from me 💙
* $16.99, US shipping included

"For the ones who didn't make it. And for everyone still fighting."
That's the dedication in my book.
Tom fought the VA for years for care that never should have required a fight.
L.P.'s pain was not managed the way it should have been, for far too long. The toll was too high.
Gretchen was failed at every turn.
Julia Shipley (Heath), P3Alliance co-founder, never lost sight of the human being behind the policy even when others ignoring her pain is what cost her her life.
And another one who carried too much to end was Mark Reese. Another OG, deeply woven into the roots of what Impact2HEAL by P3 is today.
They are part of why this book exists.
Not as a warning. As a line that should have never been crossed.

On a semi-related note …
The book was step one (see pinned post). Here's the other thing I've been building:
Most home "accessibility" advice is a checklist written for someone else's body.
So I designed something different. Snap a photo of one room and get ideas for the days your body isn't cooperating.
* Never a "just declutter" or “finish you project” lecture
* Small fixes first, all the way up to bigger structural ones for later

Pain News Network ran a piece on a $3.4 mil pain app for Native Americans.
One researcher called chronic pain "largely a construct of the brain."
PNN's summary of the app’s premise: “In short, it's all in your head."
It's not.
I wrote the book on it.
Tomorrow I'll share it… and another project I've been working on.

Something I've been working on for a long time is almost ready.
It's for everyone who's ever been told their pain is "all in your head."
Wednesday. 🦋

For years I was told some version of "it's all in your head."
It wasn't.
And it isn't in yours either.
The systems we live inside aren't broken … they just weren't designed with OUR outcome as the priority.
Everything I build comes back to that.

Everything I build comes back to that.
I've spent most of my life adapting to systems that weren't built for me.
Doctors' offices.
Insurance.
Policy.
Even my own house.
At some point I stopped just adapting … and I’ve started building.
Surviving isn't the same as thriving.
I think it’s time to share something here.
Most of the systems we encounter aren't broken. They work exactly how they were designed … just not with YOUR outcome as the priority.
I've said that for years. I finally wrote the whole thing down.
Almost no one here knows … yet.

A ramp built to ADA standards. Seams that caught his walker. A rail his oxygen bottle hit every step. The contractor wouldn't come back.
Technically accurate, ethically wrong.
$50 and 6 hours fixed most of it. Asking him first would've fixed all of it.

I've been doing accessible design for decades without ever calling it that.
A weekend helping a neighbor.
Then car and home builds with my dad, then my husband.
Now locals call me directly.
With my life changing fast these last few years, I dove deeper into it. I love it.
And the more it becomes part of me, the more I see the same pattern in policy, healthcare, and a lot of other systems.
These systems aren't broken.
They do exactly what they were designed to do... just not with your outcome as the priority.
Once the box is checked, everyone walks away clean, and the people least able to absorb the damage are left holding the proverbial bag.
