Guy who doesn't live near BU and thinks the principal area of the campus is underneath the Google Maps label instead of by Agganis, Paradise, and the Dollar Tree, where 25,000 people live and the average age is 26. Long live Packards Corner
This deserted street is at the center of Boston University, which is supposed to have about 40 thousand students. Most are nowhere to be found. The students you do see all look completely miserable. Everyone is foreign- not just in origin but in the world they inhabit. Virtually, she is far away- China, Valhalla, the moon, It wouldn’t matter. it’s not the phone that transports her, it’s her head that’s in the clouds. And she is all of us. Decades ago, this part of campus had the best parties. Now, unfriendly strivers in fantasy worlds. A Tower of Babel, and the split is more than superficially linguistic

Very sad to hear of another preventable death from stumbling into the subway tracks late last night. Any bonds or loans that would need to be taken out by the state to implement platform screen doors asap is worth it for the lives it would save

This is something Somerville needs to reckon with, to meet housing needs realistically we need to start actually allowing demolition and lot consolidation. ADUs and infill only go so far.
A major new housing development is being proposed in Allston. Plans call for a 6-story, 151-unit apartment building along Cambridge Street, replacing four existing multifamily buildings. The project would include affordable units, improved sidewalks and 28 parking spaces.

Ironic since there's no way to bike literally across the city on safe protected/separated infrastructure. Incredibly disconnected network
The City of Boston has 100 MILES of comfortable biking routes across the city.

17 years old. Smoking on the train. Shot someone in the chest just because he was confronted for it. But the average New Yorker will tell you that the real problem is that the man didn't mind his business. Why do you guys insist on normalizing this nonsense?
I’m not understanding what yall not understanding about MINDING YA FUCKING BUSINESS SO YOU’LL LIVE LONGER !!! Tf a nigga smoking gotta do with you? You too prideful to move to another car? Now look , you dead and he’ll be out by his 30th birthday 😒
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 17-year-old suspect was charged as an adult with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Darrel Rodriguez, held without bail, and the victim's father called for 60-70 years imprisonment. No evidence supports claims the shooter will be out by age 30. nydailynews.com/2026/10/22/boy… abc7ny.com/post/nypd-mari… gothamist.com/news/nypd-arre…

What an outright liar. This block of Bromfield St hasn’t “thrived” in decades. The last holdout in this video clip, City Sports, closed over a decade ago.
Not that long ago, this street in Boston was full of thriving businesses. New Mayor and City Council, new Boston.

Dunkin (New England) lol It could be standalone, in a gas station, in a convenience store, in a train station, in a "luxury" apartment building, in a sports stadium, them mfs are wherever
Remember the Starbucks effect? It's faded: homes near a Starbucks are worth just 16% more than otherwise similar places. Meet the Club Pilates effect: homes nearby are 64% higher.

Got this on my feed for some reason but fun fact: the C/D tunnel to Kenmore doe not connect to the B side. They are two different approaches on different inclines making them incompatible for any sort of crossover. For the same reason, B trains cannot loop at Kenmore

Don’t understand why all 3 other trains had to stop 1 stop away. 2 of the lines should still be free. No trains were coming to the open side of the platform

Atlanta, the busiest airport in the world, has a direct metro connection
It's very rare for a large, international city not to have this outside the US. Dublin and Melbourne are the only major international cities without a direct train link to their major airports I can think of. In the US, you have basically Chicago and DC. NYC is embarrasing.

Complete orange line supremacy, rest in piss red and green line
We're speeding things up across more of the Orange Line. 55mph is also now the top speed between North Station & Assembly, expanding on last year's speed increases to Oak Grove. We're continuously improving to provide faster travel & save our riders time. mbta.com/news/2026-10-18/mbt…

Boston is funny because we have trams in dedicated ROWs on major arterials yet its still faster to take the 57 or 39 bus most of the time because no tram signal priority and "safety" speed restrictions at every damn intersection/crossing (Using Euro terms for intl audiences)

Its very interesting how much of an unknown Connecticut is to the wider country. They all see it as Greenwich but us in New England see it as a highway through sewage to get to the wider US
Pretty accurate map of the northeast

"Just pick a cheap place to live" Id like to live where I grew up please and thank you. And most young sdukts now grew up in places they can no longer afford. Were not all from bumfuck Iowa

Do your own damn research. Try to prove me wrong. Then show me the city you looked at the cheapest house. Now, if you pick Chicago or some known expensive place, sure, you're right. You will need to live in a suburb. Supply and demand dictate prices too.

America’s most livable cities, at local median salary and local tax rate. New York: this is probably the reason why Mamdani won
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The chart's "most livable cities" rankings and quality-of-life data rely on Numbeo, a crowdsourced site where anyone can submit or alter entries; it carries explicit disclaimers on accuracy and has been widely criticized by experts and media as unreliable. numbeo.com/common/terms_o… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbeo tf1info.fr/international/…

Real Massachusetts are only people who live in Mount Washington, Shutesbury, Northfield, New Marlborough, and Ware. You cant talk about Massachusetts unless youre from these places, sorry
U must live in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, or Dallas metro. U know that the rest of Texas doesn’t consider those places as part of Texas, don’t u?

Well which is it, are the big blue cities full of "weak blue-haired soy liberals" or are they "shitholes full of illegal gun toting gang members" that make you too afraid to have a picnic in a place like Boston Common?
Replying to @sam_americaland
You don’t want to start a red vs blue Minnesotan war big dog. Wouldn’t take 24 hours for the country boys to clean sweep the cities
