The “Nora Allen Retcon” would be much cooler if it was treated as more of an in-universe change by Thawne rather than acting like that had always been Barry’s origin What if he WAS that Pre-Crisis Comic nerd, and THEN Thawne goes back and kills Nora. The CW did it pretty well
Thoughts on the retcon of Reverse Flash killing Barry's mother? What works/doesnt work about it for you?

It’s really funny how people see the flash be a powerful superhero and go “wow, captain cold can beat him? The flash must be stupid” rather than the correct takeaway of “Captain Cold is the scariest guy I’ve seen in my life”

DCAU Flash had no real fleshed-out presence or individuality outside of his “accurate personality” as the comic relief He only aesthetically matches his comic counterpart, he’s basically a cardboard cutout There’s even a whole VIDEO about how NOT thought out JLU Flash’s lore is
Replying to @toxxoz
It’s the version where every justice league member had presence and individuality and its beloved for a reason the comics couldn’t do it

Thanos and the Gardners confrontation is definitely my favorite of the bunch from Thanos Quest

Strange thing to say because *obviously* you could write Wally or Barry in that scenario… …but they are so intertwined with their powers that i really think it is important you SHOW rather than…. be vague about it they ARE the “dream hero power fantasies” personified.
“How do you have a Flash be written amazingly without displaying his powers?” Just truly baffling that this is a real question.

The entire premises of The Flash is that he a superhero with super speed It would more baffling to have an adaptation where it not a big part of the character at all

How do you have a Flash be written amazingly without displaying his powers? One of the main appeal of Flash is his super speed
Sure, but if Barry and Wally were amazingly written and the drama IN THAT FLASH show was awesome. THAT WOULD BE GREAT! Everyone is just going, "not enough constructs" Talk about the writing. Because the ring isn't used doesnt make the show bad.

Like the big appeal with superheroes are that they have powers And in fact of characters like Batman is the opposite he a character in a world of super humans without powers and still trying to be a hero

It’s Barry Allen’s 70th anniversary this month! 70 years since showcase #4, 70 YEARS of being existing, being The Flash! I really do wonder if DC has anything planned for him, no matter how small! I sure hope against hope.

Seeing all Green Lantern discourse tells me that CBM fans only really care about comic accuracy when it comes to Batman, Spider-man or Superman

I need comic stan twitter to understand that its 100% possible for someones favorite character to be a less popular character over an A-List one

Saying this when Green Lantern animated series existed
green lantern purists all over my tl bitching about every change lanterns makes is so funny because green lantern’s motion before this show was so nonexistent that they’re getting drowned out by ppl who love lanterns

Kind of insane how massive of an impact this had on The Flash’s comic designs for years to come despite the show not doing the greatest when it was airing Wally West’s 90’s suit is a direct result of this show airing around the same time
36 years ago today, The Flash premiered on CBS.

If the New 52 Flash run succeeds at anything, it’s sucking you into the comic immediately which is why It’s recommend so much to beginners You flip to this double-page spread by Francis Manapul and its visual effectiveness hits you like a truck “oh yeah, I’m reading THE FLASH”
