This is based on gait simulations that found, for example, on Mars walking was predicted at 1.1 m/s, at 2.0 m/s running minimized “effort”, while skipping minimized “fatigue”.

A lunar base should be NASA's next goal in space. We've been planning one for 70 years. Way past time we established a permanent science exploration presence on that barely explored part of Earth (the Moon *is* part of Earth) — like we did in Antarctica in the 1950s.

I used to think that there was no sane use for a 'Doomsday Orion' craft with its 8.25 gigaton yield fusion warhead.

Well this is surprising.
67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, the asteroid that @ESA_Rosetta visited, is softer than cotton candy. Single digit Pascal tensile strength. You could probably *swim* into its nucleus.
