The problem I have with the "looksmaxxing" article from Fortune is that it over relies on psychologist analysis which groups the trend into "eating disorders" which isn't really true to the slightest.
In a world where appearance has become more important for men, I think that many of these "experts" miss the point.
Improving your appearance has always been important but it has never been more important than it is right now.
While it's important to make sure that users aren't taking it to the extreme, we still think that improving you looks will only become more important over time. The self-improvement industry has always been a big one and it will only get bigger over time.
With that being said, the one thing this article gets right is that there has been a number of people that have been capitalizing on the trend to sell shady products such as the Umax app which uses AI to rate you and to give you advice (doesn't really work), or Latham's own products, which probably doesn't work either.
In closing, I recommend men find their own path. Don't overdo the looksmaxxing, but you still be improving yourself whenever you can.
