I can see a clear trend emerging here.
After yesterdayโs flop event, which starkly revealed the absence of any genuine grassroots base for the Congress and other leftist dynastic parties, the writing seems to be on the wall.
These outfits appear increasingly hollow, relying more on legacy and family names than on real popular support or organisational strength.
Looking ahead, I believe the Congress will divide into multiple parts by 2029 as internal cracks widen. In that scenario, Priyanka Gandhi is likely to take charge.
She is smarter in the sense that she knows how to avoid unnecessary controversies and not mess things up publicly the way others in the party often do. Behind her, of course, will be Robert Vadra, managing family interests from the shadows.
Having said that, in this AI age, it will be extremely difficult for these parties to regain any meaningful level of relevance without offering a proper, forward-looking proposition for Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
These younger generations do not believe much in casteism or freebies , they seek real opportunities, innovation, merit-based progress, and policies that speak to their aspirations.
Without adapting to this fundamental shift, the road ahead for such dynastic parties will be tough indeed.
