Building on Narasimha Rao’s reforms, Vajpayee combined fiscal discipline, infrastructure investment, and major second-generation reforms delivering India’s first unprecedented streak of high growth and low inflation from 2003 to 2007.
As the momentum from Vajpayee’s reforms faded, MMS squandered the gains, by adopting fiscal profligacy, rampant corruption and unprecedented loan binge. India returned to the Congress-era pattern of low growth and high inflation. By 2013, we were broke.
First term of Modi Govt was spent in cleaning up of the fiscal and banking system mess that MMS had left behind and at the start of the 2nd term came the Covid shock.
Since the COVID shock, India has entered a second period of high growth and low inflation, similar to 2003–07 but with one key difference.
The 2003–07 expansion benefited from strong global growth, which provided India with a tailwind. The current expansion, by contrast, is unfolding amid global turmoil, trade wars, and armed conflicts.
We must stay the course and pray that this is not inturrupted by another #DecadeOfDecay
India should become the largest Defence exporter of the world.

There is a fight currently going on in Indian system.
The top bureaucracy is aligned with the political executive, to ease the doing of business.
But there is a strong autoimmune response from the middle bureaucracy to bring in more compliance, more forms, more ambiguity.
The result is, that the more things change, more they remain the same.
India, at its current stage of growth needs enormous capital and we must create a conducive environment for foreign capital.
FM is very measured, but she came across as arrogant when she said "FIIs and FPIs may come and go, any shock that may come is now taken care by Indian retail investor”
India must extend the same benefit that was extended to Foreign investors this year for G-Secs, to all capital investments, including to listed and unlisted equity.
financialexpress.com/busines… a timely statement by a Veteran investors. Hope our FM @nsitharaman will seriously consider urgently @FinMinIndia
Watching Naseer in this video, frothing like he is rabid now, is so satisfying
Communist goons run riot at SRFTI, raising pro-Pak slogans, tearing down the PM's portrait, and capturing the VC office.
Yet self-proclaimed moral arbiter Naseeruddin Shah maintains a deafening, cowardly silence.
Watch @pujaranaa call out this blatant hypocrisy and hold up the mirror he desperately needs.
Why CHina is able to build so fast and India takes decades to build.
Violence was reported in Arunachal's Pasighat after police allegedly fired tear gas at youths protesting against the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project. Reports also claimed that some protesters vandalised police vehicles and NHPC office

Clearly, China views AWACS as critical capability for high-intensity conflict. Complementary to and not something made obsolete by drones and advanced air defenses.
Serial production means China wants numbers of these platforms to supports persistent coverage, ability to absorb losses, and theaterwide command-and-control simultaneously across Pacific, South China Sea and Tibet.
What will India import in response to this depth of indigenous capability of China, and by extension, of Pakistan?
From cancerous pesticides to poisoning the air that we breathe, agriculture in Punjab is pure zeher ki kheti.
These MSP farmers are murderous parasites on taxpayers of India

Of course, he is ITBP, so does not have insider view of India's plans and strategy against China.
India did held out well against China in the 2020 conflict.
But that sinking feeling, of China now so far ahead of India that we can only resort to asymmetrical warfare is unmissable.
This, after decades of being the largest importer of weapon systems and having the fourth largest defence budget.
It's a shame the Indian Army continue to mess with the procurement of basic systems like artillery guns, only to scuttle Indian producers.
'Tough to face China now".
CLEAR EYED ASSESSMENT BY DG ITBP ON THE GAP BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA IN CONVENTIONAL MILITARY CAPABILITY.
But DG ITBP holds out hope. Says developing Drone capability is an opportunity. Cites Ukraine.
DG ITBP Shatrujeet: "To face China through traditional ways would be tough now. Because, China has invested heavily in the modernization of its forces and has moved ahead.
But through drones, small nations can fight bigger nations, as we have seen in the Russia-Ukraine and Iran-USA conflicts. Every Day Russia is sacrificing 10000-15000 soldiers every month."
