A U.S. nonprofit organization in Illinois has raised more than $300,000 in “donations” to buy equipment for an Israeli sniper unit operating in Gaza. On March 14, 2024, the “Ghost Unit” publicly celebrated it’s 100th kill in posts on social media by a PR company associated with the Israeli unit: "There's no better way to see the results of your contribution than to see your contribution go straight to the hands of the people who need it."
