Day 24 of #30Days30WaysUK
The Education Authority has rolled out the Be Ready Thematic Unit, a resource available to primary schools across the region, designed to help Key Stage 2 pupils build confidence and resilience in the face of everyday risks and emergencies.
From reacting in a medical emergency to staying safe during extreme weather, the unit gives children the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions at school, at home, and in their community.
The best part? The learning doesn't stop at the school gates. This initiative is designed to reach into homes and empower whole families to feel prepared.

Day 7of #30Days30WaysUK
Did you know? 💡
Our yellow EA buses are fitted with special warning lights called ‘Jack and Jill lights’ to alert drivers when children are getting on or off the bus. 🚸
If you see these lights flashing on one of the EA's yellow buses, be aware that children and young people will be getting on or off the vehicle.
We encourage all road users to exercise caution around school buses, particularly when they are stopping or taking off.
More information on safe travelling to and from school can be found on the Home to School Transport section of our website: eani.org.uk

Does your child have a special dietary requirement? Have you notified your child’s school about it?
Special diet applications should be completed when the diet is:
◾ medically prescribed eg food allergies
◾ religious or cultural reasons
◾ vegetarian or vegan
Parents/guardians/caregivers have a crucial role in providing these details to their child’s school. All special diets must be notified to the school using our Guidance for the provision of Special Diets in schools form. This form should be submitted when your child joins a school and/or starts taking school meals, or when your child is diagnosed with a medical condition or allergy/intolerance requiring an adjustment to their diet or how the food is served.
📩 Download the form: ow.ly/sxXt50ZFcNG
Upon receipt of the completed form for medically required diets, your school will contact you and facilitate a meeting with you, the school and the school’s catering manager. The arrangements for provision of your child’s meals will be discussed and agreed ahead of the special diet being provided.
If you haven’t previously submitted a completed application, and your child needs a special diet, you need to apply now.
