While enroute, officers learned the man arrived at the residence in a black Mazda sedan and attempted to break into the home. He then broke a window at the residence, with what may have been a rifle, and left in the Mazda without going into the home. #ColchesterCounty thelaker.ca/belmont-man-char…

He grabbed a little girl riding her bike, raped her, tortured her, killed her and dumped her body in a lake. Now he’s granted permission to take cooking classes without a guard, outside of prison. We have failed as a society if we can’t get the basics right. 🇨🇦🆘

Police continue to investigate the homicide of Jason MacCullough Today marks the 27th anniversary of the homicide of Jason MacCullough. On August 28, 1999, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Jason, 19, was found deceased on a paved path between 100 and 104 Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Investigators believe Jason was passing through the area while walking home and used the well-known short-cut between the buildings. There is no indication that Jason was involved in any type of criminal activity, leading investigators to believe his death was a random act. The Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case. Investigators believe there were several people in the area at the time of the homicide and strongly believe there were witnesses to the crime. Police continue to urge these people to come forward and share anything that they remember about this day, no matter how small the detail. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at 902-490-5020; even the smallest piece of information could progress the investigation. Jason’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Callers must contact the Rewards Program at 1-888-710-9090, must provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided. #99-32436 -30-

RCMP officers are looking for a grey Mazda 3 with front-end damage and a broken back window. The vehicle was last seen in the #NewMinas area and is believed to be travelling eastbound.
Replying to @RCMPNS
Residents can expect to see a larger police presence. If you see a Mazda 3 matching this description, don’t approach the vehicle. Call 911 and provide its location.

Yesterday’s collision on Highway 102 in Lower Sackville happened in just a matter of seconds. Today, RCMP reported that a secondary multi-vehicle collision also occurred in traffic backed up behind the initial crash. Thankfully, the injuries reported in both collisions were non-life-threatening. Serious collisions can create dangerous and rapidly changing conditions for everyone involved, including motorists and first responders. Stay alert, leave adequate space between vehicles, slow down, and be prepared for stopped or slowing traffic ahead. A few extra seconds of attention can make all the difference. #hfxfirefighters #HPFFAlwaysOnDuty 🎥: @amytheglobetrotter (Instagram)

So, the mayor of Town of Lunenburg and his family get into a dustup with a local cab company. Council holds a closed-door meeting about it. The mayor issues a weird statement about staying off social media. The town says it's closing comments on its SM posts.
