Been reading my copy of @IngridAgnete
's new book, hot off the press. Superb account of the creation of 'the Arctic' as a region by peopled state bureaucracies.
Ran a taster session for our new MA Global Sustainable Futures (@NCL_Geography), and asked students how they imagined their global sustainable future. And their responses were wonderful! Sharing a couple of drawings below - and sincerely hope some of their visions come true 🙏💫

🐻❄️OUT NOW
Arctic state identity by @IngridAgnete charts the reflections and stories of state personnel from Norway, Iceland and Canada.
Providing a 'peopled' view of #geopolitics, it explores their shifting roles and identities in a time of rapid environmental change. 🧊

Weekend trip to #Stockholm and (of course) visited this exhibition - "The #Arctic: While the Ice is Melting" - at the Nordiska Museet: nordiskamuseet.se/en/exhibit…
It's worth a visit - incl. insights from Indigenous Peoples, scientists, and media about (changing) life in the region.
