A ‘high earner’ is now someone who earns 1.8 x Minimum Wage 😂 This country is honestly a joke. We need our taxes lowered substantially.
Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.

Think part of why Spurs fans are so proud to adopt him is because he is the BEST example of a model pro. When you think about the scandals that involved many of Engs greats, hes probably the first, at his level, to have a full career as a model pro off the pitch as much as on it.
“In a culture where narcissism reigns, and where even pre-eminent athletes feel compelled to advertise their greatness in glossy Instagram screeds, Harry Kane is striking a blow for humility and understatement.” @oliverbrown_tel praises the England captain's poise following his Ballon d’Or triumph ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

My #37 Harry Kane jersey from 2012 is going to be so great when he wins the Ballon d'Or

Kane has produced eye-watering numbers for nearly 10 years now. He's probably the only one (outside of Messi + Ronaldo) that has done it time and time again, whereas most have their "best season" and win it, Kane has had to keep doing it to prove a point. Deserves his flowers.

No one and I mean no one will ever remember Micah Richard’s and his 1 PL. The history of football will remember Harry Kane
🗣️ "I don't think he's as good as Rooney or Shearer" Does Harry Kane need to win trophies to confirm his greatness? 🤔

No sé si lo recuerdan, pero Harry Kane una vez rechazó el brazalete de capitán para no levantar un trofeo en el campo donde creció

We had a ballon d’or level striker and we surrounded him with players like Bryan Gil

One stat I like on the normalisation of Harry Kane's goalscoring: If you only take the England goals Kane has scored since turning 28, he'd still be the top scorer in our history.

And this Harry Kane love in reminds me of when Andy Carroll had a decent run.

I honestly don’t understand this. When Kane was doing this year after year, everyone was saying how he needed trophies to be considered. Now that he’s getting the trophies, mbappe is getting hype for scoring (as they used to put it that time) meaningless goals???
🚨🗣️ 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Fabrizio Romano: "No trophies for Mbappé? Hey, he became World Cup topscorer in HISTORY, World Cup 2026 topscorer, topscorer in the Champions League, topscorer in La Liga. This is NOT NORMAL especially when your club hasn't delivered, and he STILL DELIVERS!"

the irony in kane losing the biggest individual award in the sport to a guy who went trophyless, after being discredited his entire career for being trophyless

They have 10 straight games IN LONDON coming up. Yes, not just in England... IN LONDON...
Just look at this. 10 OUT OF 15 GAMES AWAY FROM HOME. An absolutely ridiculous travel schedule: 📍 Man City (A) 📍 Aston Villa (A) 📍 Napoli (A) 📍 Sunderland (A) 📍 Ipswich (A) 📍 Brighton (A) 📍 Nott'm Forest (A) 📍 Bayern Munich (A) 📍 Fleetwood (A) 📍 Liverpool (A). And all this while playing 72hrs apart between matches and travel time😢 Whoever designed this schedule must have lost a bet because of Arsenal. Because this is damn ridiculous. Only lost 1, so far. And some will say Arsenal is boring. And in the middle of this, Fan keeps fighting themselves unreasonably over Gyokeres & Havertz.

The year is 2008. Manchester United just won their 3rd Champions League, with Milan winning their 7th the year before… Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth has just been relegated to League Two after finishing 21st in League One. 18 years later:

Neville can never bring himself to speak negatively on Carrick 😂 yes personnel aren’t great but Tonali and Fernandes in this non-system wouldn’t do much for them.

FT comments never miss. I don’t think I’ve read such a rational analysis of the situation we’re in for a long time.
I've been in France since 2002 and have never seen the streets so violent nor the politics so extreme. From the sacking of the supermarket on my street to the prospect of Présidente Le Pen, here's me @FT including thoughts from 2 French Nobel laureates as.ft.com/r/addcad57-0f9d-4e…

John Brooks was the VAR y'day. Last season, he was the VAR: - when Liam Delap broke Spence's jaw. - when Van Dijk brought Richarlison down as the last man at Anfield. He was the ref when Ekitike fouled Romero to score, leading to the latter's red card.
