Nobody's suggesting Joe Tidy isn't a good journalist, but journalists should at least have some basic understanding of the topics they cover A cybersecurity correspondent who's never heard of PHP is like a politics correspondent who's never heard of Westminster
Joe Tidy is the best journalist covering cybersecurity in the United Kingdom. He is not a web developer. But he has managed to reach literally *millions* of people around the world and inform them about cyber risks and threats they wouldn't have understood otherwise.

He's not expected to be an expert in the area he's covering, that's what interviews are for He should at least have a reasonable level of understanding about what powers about half of all websites on the internet

Very poor statement from the First Minister. Statutory Powers to compel witnesses is an absolute must in whatever they do to get answers about what happened in Wales during the pandemic If there's no Statutory Powers, those in charge will not give evidence. It's that simple

Families affected by the pandemic, especially bereaved families, have been very patient in waiting for justice. It would be a terrible disservice to them and everyone if the government backtracks on its promises to get answers and deliver justice

I've had to re-read that highlighted paragraph a few times 🫠 How can the BBCs dedicated Cyber Correspondent not know what PHP was until a couple of days ago? 🙃
You gotta be kidding me.

60 years ago today, we lost 116 children and 28 adults on one of the darkest days in Welsh history. Cofiwn Aberfan.🖤

This is incredibly short-sighted tbh, but seems to get kicked into the long grass all too often Council Tax valuations are outdated. Using valuations from 23 years ago isn't sustainable and needs to be looked at

Don't get me started on the situation in England and Scotland though. Wales, at the very least, did a revaluation exercise this century. England and Scotland are massively out of date It's a shame it's being delayed again 🙄

If Flintshire People's Voices can win 91% of the vote in Higher Kinnerton, imagine what they could do nationally 🫡
Higher Kinnerton (Flintshire) Council By-Election Result: 🏘️ FPV: 91.3% 🌳 CON: 3.4% ➡️ RFM: 3.4% 🏰 HER: 1.6% 🙋 Ind: 0.3% Flintshire People's Voice GAIN from Independent (elected unopposed in 2022).

It appears today's trade talks between Rhun ap Iorwerth and Hiroshi Suzuki went swimmingly 🙂 Unconfirmed rumours say the talks included sending an unlimited supply of Welsh Cakes to Japan 👀
Pleasure to meet the First Minister of Wales, Rt Hon Rhun ap Iorwerth MS @RhunapIorwerth. Enjoyed fruitful discussions on a wide range of topics including economic and cultural ties between Japan & Wales. Diolch yn fawr! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇯🇵

Glad that the Welsh Government and some in opposition have finally been able to agree something on the Supplementary Budget The scenes before the summer recess were embarrassing. No surprise that Reform aren't happy but they seem more obsessed with petty issues

We have dedicated voices at the heart of government, that's what our First Ministers are They are the dedicated voices who lead their countries' governments and liaise with the UK Government The Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish secretaries are, pretty much, redundant
I have great respect for Mark but he’s wrong here 👇 It’s important Wales, Scotland & N.Ireland have dedicated voices at the heart of UKGov We are distinctly different nations & require representation in Cabinet Proud we have @SKinnock at the table🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm4g…

The most stable figure in Number 10 and he's as tough as nails 💚 When he eventually passes, though, he better get a State Funeral. He deserves one 🫡
