Making Earth radically more accessible by turning space into a global logistics network

Joined December 2020
Cool to see AFRL talking about this! At Inversion we've been focused from day 1 on building advanced re-entry vehicles to deliver cargo to remote locations. We’ve always believed the future of space-based delivery would require a new class of smaller scalable reentry vehicles. More to do, but closer every day!
BREAKING: The Pentagon is developing a way to launch military cargo into orbit, divide it among multiple reentry capsules, and deliver supplies near several battlefields from a single rocket. The Air Force and Space Force are moving away from the original Rocket Cargo concept, which centered on flying as much as 30 tons aboard one enormous reusable rocket. The new priority is a network of smaller, lower-cost capsules that can reenter independently and reach remote locations on land or at sea. The services jointly allocated $51.8 million to the Payload Delivery System effort in FY2026 and requested another $48.8 million for FY2027, according to Breaking Defense. AFRL has engaged SpaceX, Blue Origin, $RKLB, Sierra Space, Varda, Inversion Space, and Outpost Space as it seeks multiple capsule and launch providers. If successful, the Pentagon could pre-position critical supplies in orbit or launch them on demand, then send individual capsules toward forces operating across several distant or contested locations globally. The technology remains under development.

The cheapest way to get to hypersonic speeds for testing is with commercial rockets. The US needs to double down on this advantage

SpaceX doesn't go after bullshit markets. The Starfall demo today is the latest proof point that reentry is becoming its own market. Space as a logistics domain is the natural next evolution of global cargo transportation. Sea → Air → Space 1/n🧵

I'll be speaking at @tectonicdefense's Inside the Dome event on Thursday in DC about Space Based Interceptors alongside GDA leadership and other awesome companies. Space is no longer just a destination, but rather a platform whose core value is providing near-instant access to the entire world. If you're there, come and say hi! I’m hearing there are a few tickets still available. Link below

Inversion is proud to partner with Anduril on Space-Based Interceptors for Golden Dome. Anduril has set the standard for building real operational capability at speed and scale. @InversionSpace is thrilled to be building alongside them. Space offers access to the globe at unprecedented speeds. Advanced reentry lets that become physical, and will play a critical role in SBI. Work is already ripping.

I'm convinced that Space is the answer to scalable hypersonic testing. Everyone knows that the U.S. is behind in hypersonics and is working hard to catch up. Spending on hypersonics rose from ~$3.8B in 2022 to ~$6.9B in 2025. Pouring more money into legacy testing methods will yield the same inadequate results. The US's investments should follow the industry where market forces are bringing costs down and increasing flight rate: commercial space. 🧵

We were able to very accurately preform two major delta V maneuvers with Ray, a pretty major accomplishment for a first mission! This shows the capability of Inversion's in house GNC, software, feed system, ACS systems, and more. Data: celestrak.org/NORAD/elements…

Incredibly exciting new to share! @InversionSpace has successfully completed a planned on-orbit software update on Ray! This is a much larger technical accomplishment that it may initially seem, especially on a first mission. Here's why its such a big deal:

Last Wednesday, approximately 29 hours after separation, @InversionSpace received our first pictures from Ray on orbit. Commissioning of Ray so quickly, just over 1 day, is a major accomplishment for our first mission! Ray remains healthy with all systems functioning nominally.
