They purposely make the images black and white to make you think it was long ago meanwhile the "six year old girl" who is ruby bridges literally has a tiktok account.
THEY PUT A BLACK DOLL IN A COFFIN TO TERROR*ZE A SIX-YEAR-OLD GIRL WHOSE ONLY "CRIME" WAS WALKING INTO A WHITE SCHOOL.

This is why trans people hate theyfabs. You can’t make fun of them for being histrionic but they can say “just choose to die 🩷 trans people can just die 🩷 I’m woke btw”

This is what I am wondering about. An anti HRT Hyde amendment is such a low public salience but high damage policy that it raises questions. I don't think your median voter understands this position enough to be swayed by it. Feels like it is for the love(hate) of the game
Yeah tbh we shouldn't underrate the element of sincerity here; the assumption is that Turek is just callouslly selling-out, but he may simply be sincerely anti-trans. At which point arguments about political efficacy will be unlikely to move him.

“massive implications for search and rescue” shut the fuck up
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

we got cis black people saying that being trans is a choice in a poor attempt to combat antiblackness from white queers and im not supposed to think that black trans women only have each other in this world
talks about being a black queer and intersectionality feels too nuanced to talk about on twitter for me like whether or not im scared of being oppressed or discriminated based on my race or being trans changes based on the situation

if you are like me, a black trans woman, what are you even supposed to do when so many other black people understand nothing about transness at all
yes you can. you were not born with a binder carabiner and cuffed jeans you can take that shit off. you cannot be phenotypically queer. theres no amount of dressing or undressing that would change how black i look i dont understand what you dont understand.

transitioning is a choice in the same way drinking water, eating food, and breathing are a choice. transitioning is a choice in the same way chemo is a choice for people with cancer, the way insulin is a choice for people with diabetes, etc
Replying to @whozgrimez
The fact of the matter is that transitioning is a voluntary choice, a true right but a CHOICE none the less, whereas being black isn’t. Stop centering yourself and your struggle for two seconds to consider the reality for black ppl within your community.

I see they’re already building the camps
its insane how not many people are talking about how republicans with the help of several moderate democrats are building out the largest abusive medical conversion therapy operation in modern american history

Say what you will about gayness/transness being easier to hide than blackness (which is mostly true), but even in a world controlled by black people, gay and trans people would still have to hide who they are

well some of us are trans and actually visibly queer and thus cannot just "hide" it. it's almost like you're more privileged in this respect. some of us cannot hide either our blackness or our queerness!
well for starters, i can hide my gay i can't hide my black lol

the angry replies to a neutral analysis like this reveal the central problem at play for trans people in the party: they can attack us as much as they want to appeal to swing voters, but us not voting for them in response is illegitimate. we are not allowed to do politics.
This is a very risky ad IMO. Turek cannot afford to have any significant number of Democratic base voters leave the Senate line blank. #IASen

Have you failed to consider that psychological drives and disorders are based in a physical, biological body? The mind doesn’t exist independent of the body, but rather because of and through it.
Transitioning isn’t biologically necessary but a psychological treatment. Yes, it aligns with our hierarchy of needs but it’s not in the “necessary for survival” category. Let’s all touch grass and let our prefrontal cortexes fire a lil.

Are you so unimaginative, so incurious as to suggest that psychological health is not merely a subcategory of general physical health? The brain is a physical, material thing, an organ which makes up the abstraction that is the mind.

Has it not occurred to you that there are biological, material factors which differentiate the transsexual from the cissexual? Everything that exists, every thought, feeling and drive exists as and because of real material factors, something which you evidently can’t understand.
