I have just landed in Romania to begin a state visit at the invitation of President @NicusorDanRO.
The special ties between our two nations are rooted in centuries of Jewish history in Romania. Today in Iași, we will remember a dark chapter in this story by commemorating one of the worst massacres of the Holocaust and honoring the victims of the pogrom and death trains with a belated, dignified Jewish burial.
In Bucharest, I will hold meetings with President Nicușor Dan and Romania's political leadership, and address the joint plenary of the Romanian Parliament, where I will pay tribute to the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Israel and Romania. I also look forward to meeting with members of Romania's vibrant Jewish community, which serves as a living bridge between our two nations.🇮🇱🇷🇴

I was so sorry to learn of the passing of Abe Foxman, a legendary leader of the Jewish people, a champion of justice and equality, and a longtime, dear friend of mine.
Coming into a world at war, the Holocaust shaped Abe’s character and defined his mission: Combating antisemitism and hypocrisy, calling out racism and bias, speaking up for the Jewish people and the Jewish democratic Israel. His story, of rising from the ashes, is our story, the story of our people.
Abe’s decades at the helm of the Anti-Defamation League, positioned him as a prominent, distinguished force in the American Jewish community, and a bridge between Israel and the Diaspora. He was a passionate Zionist, a humanist, and an outspoken, wise friend. The affection and the respect we had for one another, enabled us to openly discuss every challenge and every obstacle. I am so grateful for the profound conversations we shared over the years, and for the brave leadership he exemplified.
I will miss Abe’s counsel and voice, and I know that his legacy and his message will live on.
I send my deepest condolences to Abe’s family and loved ones.
יהי זכרו ברוך.

Thank you @POTUS @realDonaldTrump, the leader of the free world, for taking a historic and courageous decision.
I fully support you and Prime Minister Benjamin @Netanyahu and your teams in this decision to launch a bold, combined operation against the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism, which is responsible for decades of mass terror and murder around the world and aims to become a nuclear-armed state. I sincerely hope that this operation will bring a historic change and a better future for the whole Middle East and the entire world.
Let me be clear to all those who seek or threaten to harm us: the people of Israel are a strong nation. No one can break our spirit.
To the brave women and men of the IDF: I trust and support you. An entire nation stands behind you. May God bless you all, and may you all return home in peace.
To the United States military servicemen and women conducting this noble mission: thank you. Our partnership is a true blessing, advancing hope, prosperity, and security. Together, we will prevail. May God bless you, and may you all return home in peace.
We stand together with our friends and allies in the Middle East who are under attack from the Iranian regime. May God bless them and safeguard them from all harm.
To the people of Iran: I hope and pray that you will soon be able to see a better future of freedom.

I thank Governor-General Sam Mostyn for the invitation to visit Australia and the beautiful reception in Canberra today.
During our meeting, we spoke at length about the importance of the fight against antisemitism in the aftermath of the Bondi terror attack.
We also discussed ways to reinvigorate relations between Israel and Australia in a wide range of fields, including technology, science, agriculture, and tourism.
The leaders of the J7 Taskforce on Antisemitism - representing the 7 largest Jewish communities in the Diaspora - had the honor to meet President @Isaac_Herzog earlier this week. In light of the sharp rise in antisemitism, it's imperative that Israel and Jewish communities around the globe deepen cooperation in the fight against this hate, and support Jewish resilience worldwide.

I am deeply alarmed by rising Jew-hatred on university campuses around the world.
In recent weeks, I met with hundreds of university students from around the world. Their disturbing experiences of antisemitic and anti-Israel hatred on campuses, particularly in North America and Europe, cannot be ignored. We have all seen how antisemitic rhetoric can quickly turn into deadly violence against Jews. Now is the time for leaders in every field to take clear and decisive action against antisemitism.
My message to the inspiring young leaders standing up for Israel and the Jewish people is: we stand together with you in this crucial battle against antisemitism. The Jewish people are the eternal people and we will not let this hatred break us.

Chaim Herzog was not only the President of Israel.
He was Ireland’s son.
Born in Belfast, raised in Dublin, educated at Alexandra College and Wesley College, fluent in Irish and Hebrew, a standout in rugby and cricket, and Ireland’s junior bantamweight boxing champion. A child of Irish pride and moral courage.
At the age of twenty-two, when Europe was sinking into darkness, Herzog chose action. He joined the British Army to fight the Nazis.
He landed in Normandy, fought through Belgium and the Netherlands, crossed the Rhine, and entered Bergen Belsen, where he encountered starvation, mass death, and the ruins of humanity left behind by fascist cruelty.
Weeks later, he helped identify the body of Heinrich Himmler and interrogated senior SS officials.
This Irishman confronted evil and helped to defeat it.
And now @RayMcAdam and the Dublin City Council advance a move to erase his name from Herzog Park.
Before it is an insult to Israel,
Before it is a wound to the Jewish people, it is a betrayal of Ireland and of every Irishman and woman who ever stood against tyranny.
A moral collapse.
Fifty years ago, on the 10th of November 1975, the boy from Dublin stood at the United Nations and exposed a great lie. He ended with these words:
“For us, the Jewish people, this resolution is based on hatred, falsehood, and arrogance. Hitler would have felt at home listening to the proceedings in this forum.”
And today, once again, the same winds of hatred and falsehood rise. Hitler and Mohammed Sinwar cheer your choice from hell’s deepest abyss, @RayMcAdam, while Chaim Herzog looks upon you from above with sorrow, for a city that has lost its way.
