2017 IIT Bombay Techfest, found out that ground segment for NAviC was being developed there, and that four sats were needed to keep the 'constellation' operational, main advantage is time to resolution, have higher hopes from @VyomIC_Space as launch cadence is still 6 months!

Speaking at #ESTIC2026, Ms. K. Kalpana (Project Director, Bhartiya Antariksh Station, ISRO) outlined India’s transformative roadmap to build a permanent presence in low Earth orbit, enhancing national scientific capabilities, driving microgravity research, boosting the space-enabled economy, and inspiring youth across STEM fields!
Envisaged as a 54-ton, 5-module station orbiting at an altitude of 450 km with ~100 m³ of habitable volume, 60 kW power generation, and universal docking capability, BAS will accommodate 3 to 4 long-duration crew members alongside 3 short-term visitors. Each module serves a specialized role from BAS-4’s observation cupola for Earth monitoring to BAS-5’s high-capacity berthing mechanism—working in unison as a unified, electrically integrated orbital complex designed for high fault tolerance and resource sharing.
The phased assembly kicks off with the targeted launch of BAS-1 in June 2028, followed by cargo docking demonstrations via the Gaganyaan V5 mission and subsequent crew and module launches, paving the way for complete station assembly by 2035.
Underpinning this monumental engineering endeavor are crucial technological advancements, including advanced Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) to precisely regulate oxygen, CO2, temperature, and humidity, alongside dedicated astronaut-centric amenities, personal quarters, space hygiene facilities, and continuous real-time communication tracking via IDRSS.

Our civilization would be winning wondrously if we are exploring the galaxy with Von Neumann probes by 2100!
Larry Page might be right. He has correctly predicted many things.
Microsoft's Mustafa Suleyman reveals Larry Page told him at SpaceX that by the end of the century he’d be exploring the galaxies at the head of a von Neumann probe
“Yeah, I remember in 2015 being in the canteen at SpaceX.”
“And we had our first meeting of the Ethics and Safety Board. So when we sold DeepMind to Google, we made it a condition of our acquisition that we would have an Ethics and Safety Board with independent representation on the board."
"One of those independent members, because Google had to agree, which was obviously Larry, Sergey, and David Drummond at the time. And then me, Demis, and Shane had to jointly agree who those three independents would be. And so we jointly picked Elon as one of them.”
“No idea if that had an influence on the founding of OpenAI or not. But so then we had our morning session and we were sitting down for lunch and I was sitting next to Larry. You know, obviously he was suspicious of me as well because he was like, you know, you’re one of those speciesists.”
“And he said, you know, I think that what you don’t understand, Mustafa, is that by the end of the century, I’m going to be exploring the galaxies at the head of a von Neumann probe, which means a von Neumann probe is a kind of self-propelling kind of robot that is able to gather energy from space as it’s careening through the light years.”

RAG is officially cooked.
IBM built a retriever that hallucinates 65x less than fine-tuned RAG systems.
Right now, every company is using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to stop their AI from hallucinating.
The idea is to give the AI a private database to read so it doesn't make things up.
But there is a massive structural flaw.
Standard RAG blindly grabs documents based on vector similarity and forces the AI to read them. If the retriever pulls irrelevant garbage, the AI doesn't stop.
It just hallucinates with citations.
IBM just dropped a paper that changes the math entirely.
They built a new retrieval architecture that hallucinates 65x less than state-of-the-art fine-tuned RAG systems.
65x is the difference between a fun prototype and a production-grade enterprise system.
Instead of blindly dumping context into the model and hoping for the best, their system actively filters and validates the retrieved data before the generation step even begins.
It cuts out the noise. It forces absolute precision.
For businesses, this is the holy grail.
Zero hallucinations means zero liability. It means autonomous agents can finally be trusted with sensitive company data without a human babysitting every output.

☀️➡️🌏 Delighted to share our recent work exploring the dynamics of stellar magnetic forcing of planetary magnetospheres, and establishing scaling laws that offer clues to the physics of (exo)planetary space weather.
Star-planet interactions vary enormously across systems, and running detailed simulations for every exoplanet is not feasible given the high computing cost. So we perform a (feasible) number of 3D MHD simulations, varying stellar wind speed, stellar magnetic field and planetary magnetic field, to uncover some general principles that apply to Earth-like (exo)planets.
Alfvén wings close around the planet with faster winds but open ip with stronger stellar fields; their opening angles agree reasonably well with theory. Magnetotail current-sheet length scales linearly with a dimensionless measure of wind driving relative to magnetic confinement. The magnetopause distance scales inversely with tail length.
Such scalings relationships offer physics-based insight to interpret exoplanetary magnetospheric dynamics in a generalized manner, assess (exo)planetary space weather, and understand the response of Earth like exoplanets to extreme stellar forcing.
Another chapter closes in Sakshi's @sakshi_g1997 PhD thesis -- who worked hard close to a year to perform these simulations under trying circumstances and limited computational resources. Link to published paper below:
