“Scotland's finance secretary Kate Forbes said she understood it was a blow for the hospitality sector, but said she could not offer financial help unless Westminster provided more funding.” Good luck with this ever being obeyed then, @NicolaSturgeon bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-5…
🥲
Guidance announcement - All legal restrictions (apart from masks) being removed from Monday.
Another £9,740 of our bookings up in the air: a huge sum for our small, boutique business. The wedding entertainment industry has just been hung out to dry by @NicolaSturgeon. 9 Aug for removal of indoor social distancing - why so late? @ScotWedAlliance #whataboutweddings

This is in addition to the £11,426.79 from our RoUK work too (see previous tweet). Honestly, this can't go on.
9th August for end of social distancing indoors? What the heck... @WAWofficialUK @ScotWedAlliance #whataboutweddings

If Ceilidhs are allowed, where you can change partners multiple times, get thrown around, be hot, sweaty, and panting (we don’t fuck around with our Ceilidhs), then wedding, and all other dancing forms have to be allowed. No science or justification for it now. – at Linlithgow, Scotland

Feeling it for my colleagues who DJ, sing and provide live entertainment at weddings. Really, really feeling it 💔 #WHATABOUTWEDDINGS

This is emotional and hard to watch. It’s important we are honest and share these stories though. SO brave. This was filmed at the G7 beach in Cornwall. That really makes it hit home. #whataboutweddings youtu.be/izxI_hjY8u4

😢 and no weddings…
Longest beer snake ever? 🍺 Fair to say the Edgbaston crowd are enjoying their return to Test cricket 👏 📺 Watch #ENGvNZL on Sky Sports Cricket now
£11,426.79. That's how much we (a very small business) would potentially lose if the English lockdown was extended by 4 weeks. We cannot absorb this anymore. @WAWofficialUK #whataboutweddings (I know, a Scottish ceilidh band playing in England - crazy right!?)

thesun.co.uk/news/15241170/b… and (excuse the source) but this is not what we need to hear #whataboutweddings It's really frustrating when hospitalisations are so low. There are more hospitals in the UK than people in them with COVID-19!

Woken up to this. 🙌 BUT we cannot be complacent. We need dancing and for masks to be gone. We are prepared to ask guests for proof of a negative test or vaccine. Majority of those surveyed by @WAWofficialUK in favour - businesses and couples. #whataboutweddings

Replying to @BorisJohnson
@BorisJohnson The weekly cost of not fully reopening the wedding sector on 21st. £325 million EVERY WEEK. The absolute bare minimum you can do for this industry, is to increase guest numbers to make it fair compared to other industries (pubs, sporting etc.) #whataboutweddings
Just seen this via the weddings taskforce and it’s shocking. £325m lost every week of delay without full reopening. The wastage is unreal. We order in advance, we don’t open over night. #whataboutweddings

‘Just’ 2 weeks will mean rescheduling my wedding for the 3rd time, and funnily enough I can’t simply knock it on by 2 weeks. Finding yet another new date which works for us, venue and our ten amazing suppliers takes us into 2023. Over three years delay. #whataboutweddings
