NEW: @ICEgov says it has arrested multiple illegal immigrants accused of fraudulently collecting taxpayer-funded food benefits in a nationwide operation targeting SNAP fraud.
The arrests are part of the Trump administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, according to ICE.
The agency says it will continue pursuing people accused of scamming the food assistance program, with enforcement efforts aimed at arrests and removal from the country.
Among those arrested:
Elizabeth Povea Rodriguez, an illegal immigrant from Cuba, arrested by ICE. Her criminal history includes a conviction for disorderly conduct and arrests for battery and domestic violence.
Rubstony Junior Theodore, an illegal immigrant from Haiti, arrested by ICE. His criminal history includes arrests for larceny, obstruction of officers, and trespassing.
Wilbert Jean Baptiste, an illegal immigrant from Haiti, arrested by ICE.
Louis Jean, an illegal immigrant from Haiti, arrested by ICE.
ICE saying, “61% of illegal alien households use at least one major welfare program, versus 37% of U.S.-born households, and the problems only compound over time. The lifetime net fiscal cost per illegal alien on the American taxpayer is about $166,716, this means illegal aliens are costing us AT LEAST $2.6 trillion dollars on the low end, and upwards of $5-6 trillion on the high end.”
