Game 1/82: Nothing could spoil ring night, not even a loss to the LeSixers. Maxey and Simons cooked and the Knicks looked like the top shelf liquor was still in their system.
Too many turnovers and sloppy play. A Solid debut for Drummond, but not enough gas in the tank to pull another Knicks trademark comeback.
The rings look immaculate. The banner is forever. Champs look for the bounce back in Leprechaun City Friday.

"What an ugly game…give Sixers a lot of credit…It looked like we were running in mud…Not good getting to our spots, putting pressure…Sixers 17 fastbreak points 2d half…we had 15 turnovers for 22 points…Spacing wasn't great, we were walking everywhere––and when we did get to the paint we couldn't finish…7 sprays tonight, we want 20…Hit the paint, play off of 2 feet, finish strong, or spraying…You can't shoot 42% in paint while you're turning ball over, getting beat in transition. (But) there are things we can & will clean up…Tough ballgame for me to watch…We'll be better…Fantastic job all with the ceremony…Thank you"
