“Burnt Offerings” turned 50 yesterday. It terrified me as a kid. Shot at Oakland’s Dunsmuir House, it’s based on a novel by Robert Marasco, a fellow @FordhamNYC alum. The title comes from Leviticus, meaning “a sacrifice offered by fire,” one that consumed the family in the film.
Random Architectural Moment: Who would've thought? Yalaha Bakery, since the 1990s, a German bakery in a Central Florida town with an Indigenous name, wrapped in stucco & Bavarian folk art. With a deli & beer garden. Expect Black Forest cake, apple strudel, pretzels, & more. #RAD
Random Architectural Delight: On Bruce B Downs in Tampa, there’s a 1970s medical building with a surprisingly beautiful interior. The open staircase, clean lines, and the little indoor garden create a calm, late mid‑century feel. So much to see when we choose to notice. #RAD

@Walgreens @TempleTerrace_ The sidewalks & parking areas at the Walgreens pharmacy - 56th & Busch (Store #4573), could use a thorough cleaning. Temple Terrace is a small city, & its businesses & patrons should strive to keep things friendly, clean, & welcoming. Can anyone help?
September’s the month to remember: Irwin Allen built the FIRST multiverse long before Marvel. He recycled stars, sets, and props across TV's "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" (9/14/64), "Lost in Space" (9/15/65), "The Time Tunnel" (9/9/66), and "Land of the Giants" (9/22/68).

Wild: The film "Mommie Dearest" opened 45 years ago this week. Critics never understood that Faye Dunaway gave one of the great, fearless, over‑the‑top performances of the era, the kind that should’ve won an Oscar. Instead, it derailed her career. Camp and horror at their peak.
Love seeing businesses that still take pride in their work. Sweet Face, a Mexican bakery & café in Seffner, Central FL, is a great example: owners from Mexico City & Oaxaca who cook, bake, care for customers, chat with them, and create a cozy space that honors their roots. 👏
Earlier this week, @ElNuevoDia newspaper ran a column by Robert Gevinski Walker calling for the Normandie's demolition, but the real issue isn’t parking, it’s political obstruction. The hotel deserves vision, investment, AND government courage. @Jenniffer @Miguel_Romero_ @PRFAA
