For so many years, Hollywood told us over and over this kind of adaptation was literally impossible for a live-action Resident Evil. Hollywood wouldn't lie to us, right?

Hollywood: “We can’t make a faithful movie adaptation of the Resident Evil games” Chandler Riggs: “Fine. I’ll do it myself.”

A partir de este punto, la película pasó de ser una potencial buena adaptación de Resident Evil, a un remedo de horror cómico con namedroppings de la franquicia.

There's a lot of bad jokes in the second half of Resident Evil but nothing is worse than "YEAH VIDEO GAMES!" Just absolute the worst kind of self-referential millennial humor.

I think I’m just not a fan of the way Cregger does horror and it is what it is

No, the Resident Evil franchise has not always been comedy hour None of the game heroes screamed in a goofy manner for laughs None of the game heroes INTENTIONALLY wasted resources for laughs None of the games had almost the whole cast involved crack jokes every sentence

i wasn't expecting Resident Evil to be so soyllennial, it's very whedonesque in terms of dialogue and characters. there's some genuinely cool and innovative stuff in the movie, i'm sure a lot of people will enjoy it but overall it missed the mark for me.

RESIDENT EVIL: a crushing disappointment. Outstanding direction, nightmarish imagery and the idiosyncrasies of survival horror video games perfectly captured… yet it’s all ruined by an overly comedic tone, with any tension immediately neutered by unfunny jokes. What a shame.

Posts like this are why Scream 7 was number 1 and continued to kill it at the box office. Please keep the hype going into Scream 8 we love to see it!
Even GHOSTFACE in scream 7 looked like DOG SHIT 💀💀💀 look at him compared to Ghostface in scream 5

‘A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET’ remake is in the works at Paramount. The film will adapt Wes Craven's original screenplay again.

One unrealistic thing about Obsession and The Substance is that they have a customer service line where you talk to a real human and they actually answer right away

Lee Cronin's THE MUMMY scared up $34M worldwide in its unwrapping--$20.5M int'l, $13.5M domestic. Not too shabby for a $22M production. Horror still hittin' it.
