Vic Fangio says Jonathan Greenard’s ankle started bothering him in the game. They’ll have to see how Greenard is this week. Fangio also says it’s possible they could have Jalyx Hunt in this game but it’s too early to know.

Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion says Jalen Hurts has been around over the last week and is helping ā€With Jalen, I don't know the exact number off the top of my head, but he's got a ton of starts in this league, especially going against a slate of division opponents coming up. He's played against these guys a bunch. I know Tanner's been around for that too, but I think the insight that you have from being on field is so valuable. Jalen's been through the fire of the regular season and Tanner I think it was his third start last week. I think just any veteran quarterback, because that's what Jalen is, there's always going to be insight in terms of, 'Hey, this is how the preparation for a Monday night game week can look. This how you can use your extra time. Hey, we played Dallas last year. These were the things I felt in my preparation there. These are some of my old notes.' There's so much insight to be gained from a quarterback with Jalen's experience. I know Tanner, Jalen, Cole, adding Joe Milton to the mix, these guys all work really, really well with one another in that QB room. That makes it fun to be around on a day-to-day basis. It's just the game experience and the insight of playing specifically these upcoming opponents. I think Jalen will be able to give Tanner some great help there.ā€ nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/vi…

ā€œHe's been getting better and better. I think that's the one thing. Obviously, we had a competition through the offseason in training camp, but we've had six weeks of the regular season of practice, and the guy's been improving. I think he's really sharp mentally, he's accurate, he gets the ball out of his hands quickly. I think he does all the things that you ask of a quarterback in terms of his pre-snap operation, and being able to use his cadence [and] being able to handle things at the line of scrimmage if you need adjustments. I think he's strong in a lot of those areas, and I think it opens up some things for us offensively. I think what he did, obviously, kind of a week where midweek, he knows he's getting the call. I thought he handled himself really well from a mental perspective. I think he's going to continue to improve as we move forward.ā€ Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion on Tanner McKee getting all of the reps with the starters this week now that it’s known he is the quarterback going forward ļæ¼

The Sixers home opener tomorrow night should be a great atmosphere. The Sixers showed they could have one of the best defenses in the NBA this year. Holding the Knicks to just 42 points in the second half last night. The Sixers had 24 fast break points. Tyrese Maxey And LeBron James led the NBA in fast break points last year. This team could play real fast. The Sixers want Tyrese to be aggressive and keep pushing it up the floor. And Joel Embiid said the defense has to start with him. And LeBron was playing some center last night defensively. They have a lot of versatility.

ā€œI thought our defense in the second half. I thought in the first half we played good first stop defense, but we gave up some second chance points. Offensive rebounds…they got some threes off of us not closing with a defensive rebound so I was really conscious about that, being able to close glass and limiting them to one shot.ā€ LeBron James thought the Sixers defense was really good in the second half. nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/vi…

ā€œI had fun, a lot of fun. This group is very competitive. I've been saying it all training camp. And you saw it, extremely competitive on both ends of the floor. You could tell the guys don't like losing.ā€ Tyrese Maxey says the championship leadership that LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and KCP are bringing is underrated and it is huge

ā€œI think it was just okay. I think we have a lot of room for growth, room for improvement. I’m looking forward to building with my teammates but it’s always good when you can win and learn at the same time.ā€ Jaylen Brown says what the Sixers did in the season opener is just the tip of the iceberg. ā€œI know the standard now is that the mentality we have to have is a winning mentality. We got to respect the game, we got to play defense, non-negotiable. We got to fight, we got to be the harder planned team. So we set that standard and if we maintain that, we’ll be in a good spot.ā€ nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/vi…

The Sixers had 24 fast break points last night. Tyrese Maxey had half of them. He led the NBA in fast break points last year. LeBron James was second. These Sixers can play fast and push the ball up the floor, especially with how good defensively they can be. LeBron says Tyrese is one of the fastest players in the NBA and his stamina stood out to him. Jaylen Brown says the speed of Tyrese stood out to him and they want Tyrese to be aggressive. ā€œHis stamina. It doesn’t seem like he gets tired. He’s one of the fastest guys in the league, maybe the fastest with the ball ā€œ I asked LeBron James what impressed him the most after playing in a game with Tyrese Maxey for the first time. I asked Jaylen Brown as well and Brown said it’s Tyreseā€˜s speed.

ā€œI think this year it’s going back to All Defensive team, like in the past. I was moving great. I felt like I was all over the place. I need to do that every game.ā€ Joel Embiid says it feels like he is going back to making the All Defensive team. Joel believes defense will be his focus. ā€We have the talent. I just think we have more focus in everything we do. Just be locked in every single possession. Defensively, I think a lot of it falls on me and I’ll put it on me. If I want All-Defensive team like past seasons, everything changes. If I can fit out every single night, which I will, everything changes. I think just focusing on play calls, the adjustments and the leadership between the veterans and the young guys.ā€

ā€œIt’s a big difference when he's on the floor. I'd say he's obviously the most vocal. He sees the game, sees things before it happens, obviously really talented. It's great, and as I said, we are just trying to make sure we just keep getting better, keep trying to figure each other out, on the floor, on all the spots, and on all the spacing.ā€ 21 year-old VJ Edgecombe on the effect 41 year-old LeBron James has on the Sixers when he is on the floor. "It was great; thank god we’re all on the floor at the same time. We all had fun; it's a steady progression. We won't be perfect; we're far from perfect right now, and we won't ever be perfect. We're just trying to make sure we put a complete game together, make sure we are just out there having fun, trying to keep the chemistry.ā€ nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/vi…

ā€œIt's encouraging. I think that I mentioned this a bunch pregame, I think the intent of what everybody's doing has been there. Right? I think it looked, you know, it's hard to judge anything in the preseason, but the passing was a little sloppy and lots of turnovers and all the rhythm and timing and stuff was not there. But they were looking ahead, and it's even like, I thought Joel was magnificent tonight and making the right play. Right? He just kept making the right play, depending on what was there, and that's really all we're asking to do, hit the open man and read the defense.ā€ Nick Nurse on the Sixers getting a win in the season opener with new players nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/vi…
