I am honoured to have played a part in creating this grant and am proud that @YEN_community's ‘Working in science with a disability’ talks at #YEN22 helped set the ball in motion and amplified disabled voices 🧵 (1/6)
We are pleased to announce that we now provde Disability Support Grants to help offset costs incurred due to disability when attending BSDB meetings
We thank @YEN_community @JD_Morgan7 for highlighting the need for such a scheme & for useful advice

CCRB’s very own @JD_Morgan7 has been actively advocating for disability inclusivity throughout this PhD, notably through his work with @YEN_community. Jack has recently published a perspective article as well as a voices interview piece in @Dev_journal

It was a privilege to write this piece for @Dev_journal on Disability inclusivity in our community. Thanks again to @YEN_community, my fellow authors in the associated Voices piece, and everyone engaged in disability advocacy. Let's keep the conversation going!

I'm increasingly involved with EDI initiatives these days, and I feel that disability is still an under-discussed and under-considered aspect of inclusion. We need to do better, and I welcome any thoughts on how publishers can contribute to this. 4/4

Great to see how our scientific perspective talks at #YEN2022 inspired this piece @Dev_journal Thanks to the authors for sharing their stories on #disabilities, to @amjeve for putting everything together, and particularly to our own @JD_Morgan7 for starting the conversation
