I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.

One of the best charts I saw in NYC this week: @AlfCharts’ Next Mag 7 Index making new highs. It was also @downtown Josh Brown’s favorite. Nice work, Fons!

Have a blessed Full Moon! ✨🌕✨ As they say: It is always darkest before the Dawn. Please be gentle with yourself the next couple weeks as the Moon wanes. There is some beautiful energy coming in October, but it's quite a dark journey to get there. 🌠

synaptic pruning: your brain removes what you don't keep on repeating. when you were a child, joy was easy. ice creams, puddles, first snow. you didn't need to try; you just had to feel them. however, as you grew older, joy became mundane. magic became naïve. lightness became irresponsible. as you may have realized, it's not about life; it’s about biology. your brain removes any connections you don't keep using. no malice, just efficiency. so what do you think you have stopped doing? being spontaneous. laughing with no purpose. believing that good things will come. the good news is that pruning isn't permanent. neuroplasticity is there to help you recreate all of this, not with force of will but with repetition. laugh with no rhyme or reason. do something without a goal. assume that good things will come to you. it might seem fake at first but eventually it will start working.

This is a moment to stop asking what is realistic and start asking what is possible. Uranus just stationed retrograde in Gemini, turning the electricity inward for the next five months. Uranus breaks chains. Gemini opens the mind. Together they are asking us to examine every belief, identity, story and mental structure we have mistaken for truth simply because we have carried it for a long time. What idea once felt too strange, too dangerous, too unrealistic or too far outside the version of you that everyone else became comfortable with? The invitation here is freedom. Freedom from rigid thinking. Freedom from outdated identities. Freedom from needing tomorrow to resemble yesterday just because yesterday feels familiar. Uranus does not particularly care what the ego has grown attached to. Anything built around fear, control or stagnation eventually becomes a cage, and the harder we grip the bars, the more violent liberation can feel. …So pay attention to what begins disrupting your plans. Pay attention to synchronicities, strange ideas, unexpected conversations and sudden changes of mind. Not every disruption is destruction. Sometimes life has to scramble the signal because we became too comfortable listening to the same station. What looks like chaos from inside the old reality may actually be the first evidence that another reality is trying to emerge. We are being asked to loosen our grip on certainty. To become curious again. To entertain the possibility that the life we actually want may require becoming someone we previously would not have understood. Let the mind move. Let the old story crack. Let yourself change your mind. Everything becomes possible when you stop demanding that the future make sense to the person you used to be. JFDI
