Juliet nods, gaze shifting to the screen once again. She can feel Mason's body heat against her arm, which brushes against his each time she moves.
"No, it's okay." The movie doesn't bother Juliet when she isn't watching. And Mason is a bit distracting, though Juliet is doing her best to ignore any potential budding feelings.
Another blush warms her cheeks and Juliet opens her eyes, gazing up at Mason and leaning into his touch. "Yeah," she whispers. There's an inherent feeling of safety when she's with Mason. Perhaps because of everything they had been through together. (He had pulled her out of -

As soon as Juliet turns to face the screen again, Jack Nicholson jumps out. Juliet can't help it; she yelps, turning away and bumping into Mason. The notion that facing the paranormal in reality would negate the terror that has always bubbled up when Juliet has tried to watch -
"Kinda?" Juliet tilts her head up, looking back at Mason with a smile. She can feel Mason's laugh against her lips and a blush warms her cheeks. Her gaze flickers to Mason's lips and then back to his eyes and she reluctantly returns to her original position on the couch.

Itโs the jump-scares that always get to her. That, and the grotesque and decaying woman. Juliet turns, practically against Mason, hiding her face. โEw. Eww.โ
Juliet allows herself to focus on the movie, staring at the screen and immersing herself in the story. Damn, it's creepy. And a little bit gross. Juliet wrinkles her nose, looking over at Mason for his reaction.
Juliet forced herself to relax as they return to the living room, grabbing two blankets from a small basket in the corner and offering one to Mason as she sits down.
Juliet relaxes into his arms for a minute, burying her face against his shoulder. "Sorry," she mumbles after a minute, reluctantly pulling out of the hug. She looks up at Mason and smiles softly. "And thanks."
There's little else that Juliet can say at the moment. Even if she wanted to speak, her mouth is too dry and her voice would likely crack. Instead, Juliet hesitates for a split second before stepping forward and wrapping her arms around Mason's waist, hugging him tentatively.

โ Oh . . . So that's why you wanted to know. โ He mutters in reply. โ I'm really sorry, Juliet. I had no idea. โ
It's difficult to open up to the people that have been alongside Juliet since the accident. Admitting her pain to someone she's just met seems ludicrous. And yet...
"I don't want to bum you out. It's just..." Juliet looks down at the ground between them, taking a deep breath -

โ Are you sure you're alright? You can talk to me, you know. โ
As soon as the door closes behind her, the tears begin to fall. Juliet squeezes her eyes shut as the tears roll down her cheeks. A few minutes pass before she manages to compose herself, before the lump in her throat is small enough to talk around. She jumps at the sounds of -

Juliet stares at the screen but she's barely paying attention. What if she could talk to her parents again? They would have answers to her queries - about what she should do, about how she should move on... About James.
"I have to go to the bathroom I'll be right back." -
- Hopefully the pain in her heart isn't evident in the way she speaks. Juliet jumps up, making her way to the bathroom quickly as tears begin to well in her eyes.
"Stop crying," Juliet whispers, staring at her reflection in the mirror. She takes a shaky breath, forcing a -
