Your lawyer can not perform miracles if you keep signing documents without reading them.
The President of the Bar Council of India, does not, in fact, speak for all advocates. Most of us are squarely with the students and their highly reasonable demands for their rights.
I, for one, can not wait until Justice Pardiwala's tenure as CJI. May 2028 - August 2030.
Supreme Court pulls up senior UP IAS officer, leaves him speechless! Must watch.
In 2025, the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of Meerut’s Central Market - a prominent BJP stronghold. But the then Commissioner, Rishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, under pressure from BJP leaders, stayed the court-ordered demolition. When the matter came up in open court, the officer was left completely tongue-tied as the bench delivered a stern lesson in law, constitutional duty, and democracy.

Here is a must read observation from this year’s #SupremeCourt judgment which succinctly describes the role of lawyers in a society.

Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 was a great experience! Although very disappointed by a high-level bureaucrat from Israel showing the wrong map of India in a presentation. Even worse, most people didn't seem to care or notice even. @BJP4India @INCIndia Do either of the parties care?

Every civil servant and elected official of any stature, from a peon all the way to the PM, must wear a body cam at all times of official service hours to ensure the dignity and transparency that their office demands, and the citizenry craves.

On my way to the ground in Delhi and my heart sank when I saw people feeding a whole army of pigeons. Doctors have been shouting from the rooftops about the dangers of inhaling pigeon droppings and the severe lung disease it could lead to. Please, let us stop feeding pigeons.
What a splendid judgement by the Karnataka High Court.
Parliament, please enact a law to ensure that all laws are gender neutral. Rape does not have a gender. Domestic Violence does not have a gender.
POCSO Act does not mandate protection, only for girls. Boys who are below 18 years do have the same protection, Court said.

If anyone is ever disparaging AI, show them this post. AI is only a tool, but when used effectively and in the right way, it has the potential to become the best tool humanity has ever produced. The responsibility to use it properly and legally is also squarely on our shoulders.

A government, whose de-facto heads were busy with photo ops while the citizens they work for were dying outside, to actually blame the @BlrCityPolice & the Commissioner, who were on the streets trying to save the citizens, makes even lesser sense the more you think about it.
You misunderstand Sirji, of course they had to give these key posts to Pakistan... Nobody else has a direct line of contact with the Taliban or terrorists. How will the UN talk to them without this aide?
1. IMF gave $1 billion to Pakistan on May 9 during Operation Sindoor.
2. World Bank decides to give $40 billion to Pakistan soon after Operation Sindoor.
3. ADB gave $800 million to Pakistan on June 3 soon after Operation Sindoor.
And on June 4 Pakistan gets elected as Chairman of UNSC Taliban Sanctions Committee and Vice Chairman of UNSC Counter Terrorism Committee.
Of course, this is the sad story of our own foreign policy collapse but how can the global community allow this continuous legitimisation of sponsorship of terrorism by Pakistan.

As Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka retires today from the Supreme Court, his very name—Abhay, meaning fearless—aptly reflects his judicial legacy. I fondly recall his tenure as Chief Justice of Karnataka, during which I had the privilege of appearing before him as the petitioner in several Public Interest Litigations.
Justice Oka’s unwavering perseverance and deep commitment to justice were particularly evident during the hearings of the COVID-19 PIL, in which I was the petitioner. By invoking Articles 226 and 21 of the Constitution, My Lord’s timely and decisive interventions saved countless lives across Karnataka. Under his direction, crucial measures were implemented—transparent hospital bed allotment systems, public display boards for bed availability, and effective allocation of oxygen and vaccines. He was the first to ensure a fixed quota of oxygen for Karnataka, a step that proved lifesaving.
I vividly remember the fierce urgency in his eyes during hearings, especially after the tragic deaths of around 30 people in Chamarajanagar due to oxygen shortage. When a deceased individual was reportedly left unattended outside Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru, it was Justice Oka who first underscored the sanctity of human dignity—even in death—affirming it as a fundamental right.
His concern for the common people and his dedication to justice delivery were beyond question. Even in the face of opposition, when the matter of transferring the investigation of the Bengaluru riots to the NIA arose, Justice Oka demonstrated rare judicial courage and foresight by approving the transfer, recognizing the sensitivity of the situation.
Justice Oka will be remembered for one defining attribute above all—a spine of steel.
Wishing him a fulfilling and peaceful retirement.
#JusticeOka
