Specifically Brittana, although I also wrote for Quinntana and Dantana, so I guess you could say I just really loved Santana! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐯𝐢? - I was actually still deep in my Baldur’s Gate 3 era, and some of my friends from that fandom encouraged me to watch Arcane! I don’t think they knew it would mean I’d switch from writing Shadowzel to Caitvi 🤣 but I was just so obsessed with the complexity of their characters and couldn’t resist! 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐲? 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲? - Goodness, it’s such a hard question! I pour so much love and time into all of my fics and I love them all for different reasons. Today I’ll say “The City of Dreams” aka my CaitVi Cyberpunk fic, because it was so different from the other things I’d written, and I sort of proved to myself I could write something ultra specific and niche, and build a complex story packed with romance AND action. I had so much fun with it and I think it really kickstarted me writing things that were new and out of my usual comfort zone, which has been one of my favorite things about writing for this fandom! 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧? - I have so many oh my godddd I can’t pick a singular favorite! But I’ll go with a line from “The Queen’s Woman” in a letter from Caitlyn to Vi: “I'd quite like to keep writing to you all day, if only to leave you with more things to think of when you fall asleep without me tonight. Alas, I do have a date with a book. Don't worry, though. She doesn't hold a candle to you.” 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐞𝐭? - Oh man. Short answer: SEQUELS. Longer answer: I have a sequel to TQW planned, I have another sequel to IIBCN planned, I have ideas for a Critical Success sequel, and I even have a note filled with ideas for a third CaitVi Cyberpunk fic! There’s just not enough time in the day and I’ll always prioritize the ideas making my beak go brrrrr the most 🤣 𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐈𝐏𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭? - Yes!! I’m actually working on two right now—a long fic that may or may not be fantasy CaitVi 👀 and also parts three and four of “Looking For Play Partner” 🤪 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦? - I actually started writing stories well before I knew what fanfic was, when I was about 10 years old I wrote modern fantasy stories and traded my chapters with my best friend at the time who also loved writing. I realized I was queer when I was 12 while watching Glee, but I didn’t have a smartphone and therefore twitter until I was 13, and in between that timeframe I tried my hand at writing lesbian romance. Then I discovered fanfiction and—well, the rest is history! (Also, if you ever read Glee or PLL fanfic by BrittzandTana… that was me before I rebranded🤭) Thank you so much to Tori for taking the time to participate!
