The Trans Adriatic Pipeline began commercial operations 5 years ago. Since then, it has achieved remarkable success, now supplying 12 European countries. But - despite requests for more Azerbaijani gas - the EU has been stalling on the pipeline’s expansion caspianpolicy.org/research/e…
In case of interest, a short-ish article I just wrote. Further ideas for a UK role welcome!
“The Greater Caspian Region: Where Does The UK fit in?” caspianpolicy.org/research/s…
Bu 🇦🇿🇬🇧tədbirində iştirak etməkdən çox məmnun oldum. While the main focus was on the three main pillars of the relationship - government, energy, education - the changing regional situation and the new faces meant a wide-ranging discussion and fresh ideas. Great initiative!
Plenty of details still to be worked through, but also plenty of new opportunities for both countries. The two leaders should be applauded for taking this historic step. 👏👏 to 🇺🇸too. 🇮🇷and 🇷🇺hostility to the agreements show exactly why 🇦🇿and 🇦🇲 need to break free from them.
Very happy to have participated in this conference.

I was reading a book about the role of different fabrics - wool, cotton, silk - in Central Asia, and became intrigued in particular by cotton. This is the result 👇
How the EU lost its way in the South Caucasus. Will the new US Administration have a better map?
Commentary from @JamesSharpUK: Time will tell to what degree the new administration changes the U.S. approach towards the South Caucasus, but at least they have an opportunity to step back and take a fresh look. caspianpolicy.org/research/s…
🇦🇿🤝🇦🇲👏👏
