I recently joined @JayRoberts on The Long Game for a conversation about one of the issues I hear about most from residents across Miami-Dade: affordability. We talked about the rising cost of housing, what condominium owners are facing, how much Miami-Dade has changed in just the last few years, and the challenge of making sure the people who built their lives here can afford to stay here. This issue is personal to me, too. I live in a condo, and like so many other Miamians, I’ve watched the cost of living increase significantly. These numbers affect whether families can stay in their neighborhoods, whether seniors can remain in their homes, and whether the next generation can see a future for themselves here. We also discussed the role local government can play, the solutions we need to keep pursuing, and why listening to the people experiencing these challenges firsthand has to remain at the center of the conversation.
