Companies have stopped waiting for things to feel stable before they hire. What they want now is more evidence. Recent work, with real depth and context. "I did that 5 years ago" is getting people overlooked for roles they could do.

Had an honest conversation with a candidate. Been in the market 18 month. They were on 6-figures and now they鈥檙e struggling to get interviews for salaries between 拢70-80k. The main reason is because they鈥檝e been out of work so long, and the market has evolved. I sympathise

When you鈥檙e out of the job, you don鈥檛 understand how quick things evolve. A lot of employers want to see recent evidence of what you鈥檝e done. Saying you know how to do something or a vague I did it 5 years ago doesn鈥檛 allow you to give the same depth or context.

Salaries in the market are insane. And we鈥檙e seeing a gulf open up, however people bringing experience are getting overlooked for roles they could do

Restricting non-competes is a good step. But the complaint I hear most as a recruiter is job ads with no salary on them. The EU has passed rules requiring a pay range before interview. The UK should do the same @AndyBurnhamGM

If you want a senior hire in place before Christmas, you've got about six weeks. Hiring is still busy right now. After that, a lot of companies wind searches down and pick them back up in January.

Helen Whatley MP spends every day bashing disabled people online and calling them scroungers. She has claimed for almost 拢2,000,000 on expenses since 2015. 拢300,000 of this are for her own travel and accommodation etc, yet she lives 50 miles from London.

This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It鈥檚 actually quite beautiful. Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything. Suddenly, you don鈥檛 need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration. And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain鈥檚 problems, you鈥檙e already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.
