Mali has announced a major change to its school curriculum: students will no longer study French history. Instead, lessons will focus on the history of Mali and the African continent.
Government officials state this move is designed to strengthen national identity and reduce the influence of colonial narratives.
By prioritizing local leaders, African heritage, and regional stories, Mali aims to give young people a clearer understanding of their own roots.
This shift marks a significant step in reclaiming the country's educational narrative for future generations.

Don’t let the stereotype of where you started define the limits of where you can go.
Your beginning doesn’t dictate your destiny. Keep pushing, stay hopeful, and never give up.
