👉🏼I am not a lawyer, this is all my opinion, but I do believe that this is a SLAPP lawsuit being brought by the McNeff et. al against Ben, Bryan and nameless John Does.
👉🏼Anti-SLAPP laws apply here because: Ben is a journalist with a body of work previously showing his work and a good deal of loyal, polite fans. Ben hasn’t ever been anything but polite and respectful throughout and presents himself as a journalist to everyone. He brings to light matters of public concern and interest in an entertaining ways! He’s a journalist and who was performing investigative journalism on behalf of a Man and his Father who had been robbed!
👉🏼Ben helped their story come to light again, despite evidence that this story had been WIDELY circulated by The Salem and Statesman Journals in Oregon, it was on TV KOIN6, attorneys were involved, the police were involved and in the end, Bryan got nothing but threats of malicious prosecution by Corporate Bricks and Minifigs, ie. Matt and Ammon McNeff.
👉🏼BECAUSE of the widespread coverage of this story’s events in Oregon, one cannot argue how or who initiated threats or graffiti or calls to the store because that Media attention coincided with a large portion of Ben’s work, but his video was posted two months after the store had already closed. He had published 0 videos before May 2026, the store closed in March.
👉🏼They never pressed for a police report about these alleged threats and harassment incidents, no public records exist for their claims. Ben couldn’t have been their only source for their claim.
👉🏼Ben has NEVER threatened, never asked or promoted violence from ANYONE, never engaged in anything illegal or harmful to anyone at any point in time. He has never threatened anyone’s life health or safety based on his OWN videos and Millions of witnesses.
👉🏼Their evidence and reason for this SLAPP suit is based on Lies and Obfuscation. As evidenced on their own Police Cam footage threatening Ben’s life health and safety!
👉🏼Ben has done a job to shine the light on what seems to be a much bigger and glaring issue with a corporation and its alleged sketchy ties to an entire Police Department. That is a separate lawsuit for a Civil Rights Attorney.
👉🏼Any good lawyer would be filing Ben a “Motion to strike” arguing that it’s a matter of public concern and interest.
