Pope Leo XIV says the pope doesn’t take sides in tomorrow’s Villanova–Notre Dame game in Rome. Robert Prevost, he admits, has another opinion.

The ALS community has lost one of its most powerful voices. Brooke Eby was diagnosed with ALS in 2022 at just 33 years old. Instead of retreating, she made a choice that changed how the world sees this disease: she shared it all, with honesty and a sense of humor that made it impossible to look away. She brought her employer Salesforce into the fight and raised more than $1 million for research. She helped build ALStogether so people with ALS could find one another. And she shared her story with the Today Show, The New York Times and People. In 2024, the ALS Association was proud to name her an ALS Hero. "Brooke made ALS impossible to ignore, and she made it impossible not to love her while she did it," said ALS Association President and CEO Calaneet Balas. Brooke died Thursday at 37. We will keep going until ALS is livable for everyone, and then cured. Read our full statement: als.org/stories-news/brooke-…

She was extraordinary.
I am just devastated to hear of the passing of Brooke Eby @limpbroozkit. Brooke was an amazing warrior with an attitude so positive it could melt a glacier. All of my thoughts are with her Ohana at this time. May the One who brings Peace bring Peace to All. ❤️

Beautiful images from one of the holiest places in the world. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria.
This evening in the Shrine of Lourdes, Pope Leo XIV offered a Golden rose to Our Lady of Lourdes in the Grotto of Massabielle.

My nephew
Oh, this is so sad. Shane was a wonderful person. We hadn't spoken in a few years, but he was just a lovely human being who loved politics. He spoke out on disability rights and dealt with cancer as well as anyone could have. Farewell, Shane.

Shane is my nephew. Thank you Congressman!
This week is Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Awareness Week. EB is a rare, painful disease that affects kids and adults everywhere, including here at home. Shane, a friend and constituent of mine, has shared his story to help others and push for better research. We have to keep investing in this work — so families living with EB can keep their hope, and so we get to a cure. 💙🙏🏻

Very sad to hear that the great Ken Dryden has died. Brilliant, gifted, honorable. He inspired so many with his example, including me. Back in 2009, I hosted a conversation with Dryden and Bill Bradley at Cornell. Two of the greatest student-athletes ever. Only the second time they had met. They were wonderful together. cornell.edu/video/lives-on-t…

I had the honor of meeting Pope Francis during his 2015 visit to the @Sept11Memorial, where he spoke to an interfaith audience about the importance of religious tolerance and inclusivity. His message carried special resonance at the site of the 9/11 attacks, and it remains as important today as it was then. His deep commitment to fostering healing and unity inspired people of all faiths around the world, as did his humble style, commitment to the poor, and calls for tackling climate change and protecting the environment. It is fitting that his final Easter message included pleas for peace and 'respect for the views of others,' a reflection of the compassion, tolerance, and devotion to justice that were hallmarks of his papacy. The world will deeply miss his moral leadership and universal vision.
