A heartfelt obituary of Neville Fay, who changed the way we understand ancient trees. I worked with him briefly on the Veteran Trees Initiative in the late 90s, and regret not knowing him better. @inkcapjournal @StevenFalk1 @treesforlifeuk theguardian.com/environment/…

Good to see Ross Kemp isn't bitter! I would also want them to suffer! #celebritytraitors

If we lose Miranda or Romesh I'm going to be so gutted. I can live without the rest of them. #celebritytraitors

And Leigh-Anne. She is awesome. If she's banished for that astonishingly hilarious and kind scene with Miranda, I will hunt them down. #CelebrityTraitors

OMG! Joanne is there! But if she's telling James, she doesn't suspect him?! She's got the method but not the murderer. #celebritytraitors

Knowing when to give up is definitely a crucial skill. The #celebritytraitors will definitely be feeling a bit rubbish though. At least Maya and Kenny tried, but how will they punish James A? Hannah would have got the gold no problem. #JustSaying.

Confusing the faithful is definitely good traitoring but that was mad! #celebritytraitors

I think if I was a traitor I'd just sit this one out! There's plenty of other options to win gold! #TheCelebrityTraitors

Oh poor Ross! He was so paranoid and it didn't do any good! But you have to admire anyone who can quote Shakespeare and make threats whilst being murdered! #celebritytraitors

Ah, Jerry is great but Ross's paranoia is so entertaining! Kind of hope they failed... #celebritytraitors

I'm very glad @KHayhoe clarified that this was a fake Loch Ness Monster. Obviously the Real Nessie would never go that far west of Fort Augustus.
How a fake Loch Ness Monster helped bring a dammed-up river back to life -- and how climate change is coming for your pumpkins. Read on! 🌊 Good news: In Grand Rapids, they're ripping out century-old dams to bring the rapids back to the Grand River - and this 15-year initiative was catalyzed by a Nessie art installation. πŸŽƒ Not-so-good news: This year the pumpkins took a beating worldwide, with drought, heat and flood decimating crops from North America to the UK. πŸ“£ What you can do: In Australia, there’s still time to join Climate for Change’s Challenge for Climate: ten climate actions over ten days, through October 24. And in Canada, enter Canadian Geographic’s Live Net Zero Household Challenge by writing in the climate actions you’re already taking at home! Even if you're not in Australia or Canada, tell someone why climate change matters to you this week. Most of us already care, we just have to say so out loud - and by doing so, we're "unsilencing the majority"! πŸ’š talkingclimate.ca/p/whats-sp…

Surprising numbers of plants still in flower for #wildflowerhour, including red and white campion and harebell. Ivy is less surprising, but I was impressed at the number of fresh-looking red admirals, including seven on this bush alone!

So many red admirals around at the moment! There were at least seven on this ivy on Telford Street in Inverness.
