Being TDY in a Navy research institute is a wild culture shock. Yea, it's crazy that I'm wearing a different uniform pattern from y'all. But it's also crazy that y'all roll your sleeves indoors... I get it though. Oh, and hands in pockets.

The great thing about the Army is that there is no shortage of opportunities to expand your experiences, horizons, and skillset. From the job opportunities to the people. There are plenty of ways to better yourself if you're willing to look.

Make sure that you are checking on your people over the holidays, especially your newest Soldiers. Going home on leave is great. Having time away from work is deserved and a needed way to decompress. But many young Soldiers, especially the newest within the Army will learn a hard truth this holiday season: Although they traveled hundreds or thousands of miles to be back home, many of their friends and family cant be bothered to drive 10 minutes to see them. It is a real gut check and unfortunately one that many service members will experience. Take the time to reach out once or twice over the holidays to ensure people are doing ok. Dont talk about work, just show that you genuinely care.

If there aren't any pictures to prove it, we're you even in your service uniform?

According to my phlebotomists, I have a clone running around in the Air Force. Bet I could do more push-ups than him though.

The brilliant thing about my position as a laboratory officer and blood professional is that I help Veterans continue to support active-duty SMs through blood donations that support the Warfighter. Happy Veterans' Day to all who have served. It's an honor to continue the service.

Happy Veteran’s Day Imposter syndrome is a real thing. Don’t feel like you shouldn’t be taking advantage of the offers that are out there today. Less than 1% of the population serves. If a business wants to offer you something, it’s because they want to say thank you.

As I prepare myself for my next assignment in the Army, I'm seeing more buddies I trained with as freshly-appointed officers prepare to leave the military. To those buddies. There's no judgment. Thank you for having served. And if you ever need help, give me a call.

We will always remember. We will never forget. We stand ready to serve and save.

You do not need to have been alive, deployed, or have lost someone to remember what happened on this day 22 years ago. How you choose to move forward is just as important today as the choice our country made 22 years ago. And we stand together now, ready to serve and save.

22 years ago, I was in elementary school standing in line to go to class. And I remember thinking "We're under attack." This was a turning point that shaped an entire generation.

One of my trouser pocket buttons finally popped off and now it's got me looking like a dang soup-sandwich. Send help.

Another year, another opportunity to save the future. If you know, you know.

That training day mood when you see how much online training you need to catch up on before the long weekend...

Everyone’s service is valuable. Whether you deployed or remained stateside, saw combat or helped the effort from the rear, did 35 years or 3. Everyone has a role to play. Never second guess your worth. If you raised your hand and volunteered you are doing more than most.
