I'm glad Daniel is getting is due, finally. But some of us were Vogey believers long before this World Series.
no strong feels about the content but the double Yiddishism in the teaser post is a banger
So we now live in a world where party clowns feel unsafe in their environment, their schlocky schtick no longer protecting them from those mean street toughs on college campuses. madison.com/sports/college/a…
Especially in Michigan, where just a few months ago an armed Hezbollah-inspired gunman drove a truck into a shul where more than 100 kids were in classrooms
Depicting Jewish concerns over anti-Semitism as "prioritizing a personal grievance" is a pretty good explanation for why so many Michigan Jews are voting for Rogers.
When Democrats make clear they don't care about Jewish fears of anti-Semitism, and they don't believe that Democratic candidates who have used anti-Semitic tropes and campaigned with anti-Semites have a responsibility to reassure Jewish voters, they are saying the quiet part out loud: they simply don't care about Jewish safety and security.
Save your equivocations, @MarkLazerus. The rest of us are tired of the rocks and the firebombing.
I'm an American Jew.
Opposing the Israeli government doesn't mean you hate Jews, especially when that government is abandoning Jewish values.
Just like opposing the U.S. government doesn't mean you hate America, especially when that government is abandoning American values.
Yes, there's a real concern that anti-Israel sentiment can very quickly turn into antisemitic sentiment. And we need to be vigilant. But that doesn't mean blind loyalty and purity tests and locking down free speech.
Jews are not monolithic; no people is. But we're a people that embrace nuance and erudition and free speech and thoughtful, passionate, learned, open debate. And we need that more than ever these days.
California has six universities (three public, three private) in the top 30 nationally; Washington has ZERO.
Our competitive advantage is far more fragile, traditionally been based on low power costs and no state income tax. Both have been ceded.
Fascinating side-by-side between Seattle and SF.
Seattle can be cool. But it's not the same with economic density or climate. Politics in both cities can be idiotic. But SF has turned a massive corner while Seattle is focused on handing out drug needles, excessive taxation that the base can't afford, and letting killers run free.
people make light of this but in the background of this series the Johnsonville Brats v. Usinger's Sausage war has reached a fever pitch not seen since the Western Front in 1916
"Macklemore-endorsed" means exactly what you think it means
Compelling new entry into the pantheon of ACLU identity crisis pieces — the peak of which is the incoming ACLU Indiana executive director, who is a community activist, prison abolitionist, and former Macklemore-endorsed mayoral candidate from Seattle, allegedly saying the organization should not have taken its famous stand of defending neo-Nazis' free speech and should have instead offered "other advocacy tools"
Sure Norilsk is a closed city, but think of what it offers (via TripAdvisor)
•ВЗабой (Vzaboy): A high-rated local pub, bar, and café.
•
•13 Правил (13 Pravil): A specialized beer bar.
•
•New Port Bar: Another local drinking establishment.
This is like the Straight Talk Express but for downtown vacancy and the fentanyl crisis.
Imagine if all the far-left mayors took a delegation trip to SF to learn from Daniel Lurie how to actually tackle public safety and rebuild community trust. They’d be upset to learn they can’t just hand out needles and call it a solution! But I’m confident a little exposure to actual governance would do them some good.
Jon Scholes is a business leader. He knows what needs to be done to clean up the city (physically, and from a personnel standpoint). He didn't need to go to SF or anywhere else to learn it, and he isn't speaking for the city in this quote, he is speaking TO the city.
This might be immaterial in the face of his apologism for terror, but the Scott Brown Carhartt really isn't working for Abdul
Holy moly @NBCNews decided to actually do some journalism! This is a must watch.
NBC: Your sister bragged about your mom’s ties to a terrorist organization
Abdul: Well I grew up in Michigan 🥴
One of my favorites on one of my favorites
I met @kmele and @mcmoynihan on separate CNN roundtables and immediately wanted to talk to them more. So it was great to sit down for a longer, more substantive conversation on @wethefifth about the midterms, the Democratic Party, and just about every crazy headline of the moment.
