Muslims have a plan to make America a Muslim nation.
Marxists have a plan to make America a Marxist nation.
Secular Progressives have a plan to make America a Secular Progressive nation.
… but Christians seem to always have a plan to keep Christianity from further influencing our nation by discipling people into either:
1) Political apathy (“God is sovereign, back off”, “we don’t get political, just do evangelism”)
2) Political ambiguity (“Jesus isn’t a Republican or Democrat, neither Right nor Left” = primary application of gospel to culture)
If continued, this will have very predictable (and disastrous) results in coming years, and a few conversations with pastors in deep blue cities / states trying to build churches, pastor people, and raise Christian families will help you realize it.

Dallas gained 34 yards of offense on its final 27 plays from scrimmage. The Cardinals picked up 267 yards on its final 31 plays in that same time frame.

@JoeyMcGuireTTU is a good man, a great coach, and is the genuine article. Authentically loves his players and loves the program. We are so fortunate to have him! Perfect fit for @TexasTechFB and Lubbock, Texas.
Ten million people have watched a comedian accidentally destroy the entire TED talk industry.
He filmed the talk once at TEDxNewYork in 2014 and openly admitted he had nothing to say.
Speaking coaches charge $5,000 to teach the exact tricks he used in 6 minutes to say nothing at all.
His name is Will Stephen. He is a comedian from Late Night with Seth Meyers who was invited to give a real TED talk and used it to prove the format is a costume anyone can wear.
Every TED speaker opens with a question, tells a personal story, cites a scientist, and shows a chart. Stephen did all four in six minutes with zero content.
His entire formula fits on a napkin.
Gesture with both hands. Ask the audience a question anyone can answer. Tell a mildly embarrassing story so they say aww. Point to a stranger on a slide and call them important. Flash a chart of random numbers. Wear glasses with no lenses. The audience will think you are brilliant.
That last trick alone has probably cost the public speaking coaching industry a hundred million dollars in sessions clients should have skipped.
"If you watched me on YouTube with the sound off, you would think I was a genius."
That is Will Stephen on the TED stage, three minutes into the talk he was paid to give. He wasn't lying.
Executives pay $15,000 for a keynote coach and still open with a joke the room never laughs at. Founders rehearse their pitch for weeks and still sound like Stephen at minute four, saying "wagga wah, gabba gabba" with authority.
The talk is free on YouTube. The method is written across every TED speaker's playbook for ten years.
Stephen still writes for Seth Meyers. Almost none of the ten million viewers have stopped nodding at empty slides since.
The formula is free. The willingness to actually say something before your next keynote, pitch, or townhall is the entire edge.

Life lessons were learned.
1. Don't quote tweet people to tell them to shut up and be surprised when they respond.
2. If you decide to quote tweet someone to tell them to shut up, use a burner that isn't going to be traced back to your employer.

They’re going to use this to lock the ACC and Big 12 out of major nonconference games, and then use “weak nonconference” as justification to put 18 Big Ten and SEC teams into the 24-team playoff.
Fox's Joel Klatt told @dfwticket today that an SEC-B1G scheduling agreement will be announced "almost immediately" once the CFP expands to 24.

I just saw a guy who screen grabbed two photos, zoomed in hoping to find a way to attack a man through his wife, and then posted with the implication that the bigger ring in one photo is evidence of some type of demonic presence in the ministry of her husband, the one you're attacking through his wife.
You have no way of knowing if your claim about the ring is true.
You don't seem interested in hearing out Howerton in this post, or anything more than using his wife to attack him.
You have only included a hit against them, refusing to "believe all things" and allow any further explanation other than your detective work.
You also don't allow for the idea that the man saved and bought the love of his life and his gift from God a nice ring (but who knows, it may be cubic zirconia). I can't imagine what type of feeling would publicly hope that a pastor cannot buy something nice for his wife and the mom of his kids.
So then, the question is why. Why would someone assume the worst of a situation? Why would someone lower themselves to snapping and zooming in on screen shots? Why a public and very petty attack?
If it isn't jealousy that drives this, I'm sorry... but it certainly isn't noble.

Rough day for the only a few teams can win a national title crowd. It’s a new era. Five of the top seven in college football lost and four of those teams were a touchdown or more favorite. The new era reality is 20+ teams can win a title if they get hot at the right time.

PASTOR FRIENDS: Heads up, your people WANT YOU to remind them to vote.
Just in our state (Texas) an estimated ~8M Christians will forget to vote in midterms and it will be decided by a projected ~300k votes.
So, we built a website to help solve this problem. Anyone in any state can text the word "VOTE" to the phone number 20411 and they'll get...
1) A text reminder when midterm voting begins
2) A link to this site we built that can tell them WHERE to vote in their county and WHAT to bring in their state. Works in all 50 states.
Pastors, you can put something like I scripted in the next tweet (for our church) in your announcements for a couple weeks leading up to midterms and leverage the site we built.

Hey Lakepointe family, quick reminder from Pastor Josh this election season:
As disciples of Jesus Christ we are called to be "the salt of the earth", the purpose of salt in the Bible was to SLOW DECAY, and as Pastor Josh has reminded us, part of being good disciples includes being good citizens of our state and nation that SLOW SOCIETAL DECAY.
With midterm elections coming up, an estimated 8 MILLION Christians just in the state of Texas will forget to vote, so we want to help.
Simply text the word VOTE to the number 20411 to receive a text reminder when midterm voting begins and a link to a site Christians built that can tell you WHERE to vote in your county and WHAT you need to bring in about 10 seconds.
The site works in all 50 states. Text the word VOTE to 20411 to receive the link and the reminder.
