This was the week Canada stopped shooting its oil patch in the foot “But let’s not overdo the back patting. This is not Canada doing the impossible at the speed of the inconceivable. It only seems so in comparison to the preceding years of slow-motion self-sabotage and learned helplessness. What we are witnessing is our country finally acting with some sense of its own self-interest, and an interest in its own self-preservation. That, and showing a basic ability to count.” theglobeandmail.com/business…

Canada’s approach to its natural resources is changing — and one of the country’s biggest miners says the difference is dramatic. For 10 years, Ammar Al-Joundi says Agnico Eagle couldn’t get anyone from the federal government to attend a mine opening. Then he got a text on a Sunday morning. The Agnico Eagle President & CEO says newly appointed Energy and Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson personally reached out, introduced himself and asked one simple question: “How can I help?” For a company investing billions in Canada and employing thousands of Canadians, Al-Joundi calls the shift a “sea change” in how Ottawa approaches resource development. Is Canada finally getting serious about unlocking its natural resources? 🔥 A+ response from Liberal Energy Minister Hodgson on how the federal government justifies expanding Canadian oil & gas production; Alberta Energy Minister Brian Jean beaming in the background. "In the world we need to live in - not in a magical world - in the world as it is not as we wish it to be, this is the most productive way to be a clean and conventional energy superpower and it makes complete sense to do that."

Not just a social media problem – a management, HR and PR problem (compounded by failure in systemic comms controls). Not a good look.

If you’re in real estate in any capacity and don’t have a multitude of guys. Good luck.
I mentioned that my garage door was making a sound. An American immediately said, "I got a guy." He did not ask what the sound was. He did not ask what kind of door. He produced a guy on the basis of the word garage. I asked who the guy was. He said, "Just a guy." He did not have a company name. He had a first name and a phone number in his phone saved as "Mike Garage." That is the contact name. Mike Garage. As though Garage is his surname. As though there is a family. I asked how he found this guy. "My brother-in-law used him." I asked if the brother-in-law was satisfied. He thought about it. Then he said, "He's still standing." The house is still standing. That is the entire review. Inside I said: THEY DO NOT KEEP RECORDS. THEY KEEP LOYALTIES. I called Mike Garage. He answered from inside a vehicle. There was wind. He said he could come Tuesday between eleven and four. Between eleven and four. A window of five hours. In my country this would be a scandal. Here it is generous. He gave me a window at all. Some guys do not give you a window. Some guys say "Tuesday" and that is the whole appointment. He came at 1:40. He fixed it in twenty minutes. He charged me less than I expected and he did not take a card, only cash or an app I had never heard of. Before leaving he looked at my water heater, which I had not mentioned, and said, "That's gonna go." I asked when. "Couple years." I asked what I should do. He said, "I'll give you a guy." He gave me a guy. Mike Garage has a guy. The guy has a guy. There is a network beneath this country made entirely of men named after their function, and none of them advertise, and all of them are busy. Inside I said: THERE IS A SECOND NATION HERE. IT HAS NO SIGNS. IT IS ENTERED ONLY BY INTRODUCTION. I have been given four guys since. I have a guy for trees. I did not know I needed a guy for trees. I have trees now, apparently. They are my responsibility. A man named Rick told me so and then left.

The CEO of Enbridge took a shot at former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "Out doing Top 40 things with Katy Perry...that's probably a better use of time for that individual"
🇨🇦 "Two years ago, the government was trying to shut this industry down." @Enbridge CEO Greg Ebel says Canada has turned a corner—and believes the country's oil and gas industry is poised for a comeback. He explains why Canadian energy has become a strategic advantage, why Europe and the U.S. need reliable Canadian supply, and why he believes the industry has a much bigger role to play in an increasingly uncertain world. Justin Trudeau’s audacious decision to buy and build the TMX pipeline expansion, which laid the foundation for today’s announcement to add a second pipeline alongside it, deserves some credit it obviously won’t get for helping build Canada. #cdnpoli

Good read for all the tenants out there who hate homeowners for doing nothing and “making money”. The “nothing” is showing up as risk and extreme pain. Just takes longer than 30 seconds to show up.
The Aftermath Of The Real Estate Insanity Of 2020 - 2022 Huge Mortgages Too Many Co-signers & Years Of Pain Here's what we know: from the Fall of 2020 to March of 2022 many Real Estate Markets in BC & Ontario became crazy: FOMO, Work From Far-Off Home, you name it 2/

Carney confirms details of the condo bailout. Lots of assumptions the government is getting such a great price. If that was the case the free market would’ve already absorbed these units. Do you really think vulture funds wouldn’t have already done this?

I have never seen worse comms on a rollout than this. Political malpractice.
If you needed 95 seconds of explaining the whole housing bailout that's not actually a bailout, but actually is... "Who's gonna be able to afford a $1M home?" -CBC 🤣 "Is government going to be a Landlord?" -CBC 🤣 "We haven't discussed that yet..." -BC Minister of Housing
