We made a new lager beer! "Indomitus" for wild and untamed. Brewed with a wild yeast strain from Patagonia, this is the result of a super fun collaboration (and lots of hard work) with Francisco Cubillos, Chile @FcocubillosR and Andrés Furukawa at the Nils Oscar Brewery, Sweden

Welcome 2026 & our first submission. Here with @pablovilla81 & #Diego Libkind & colbs we dissected the S. eubayanus host preferences. Long story short, using 470 seq. we found that bark composition determines the yeast genomic structure.

✨ Latest exciting story of @haploteam in @Nature. Here, we go beyond SNPs and built a species-wide atlas of genetic variants in yeast. With >1,000 near T2T genomes, we show how SVs shape the phenotypic landscape.

For the past few years we’ve been working on a Patagonian whisky, 100% made out of biological resources from Patagonia. This video from @ANID_Chile elegantly summarises our efforts on this. Thanks @ANID_Chile @ibiochile and @usach @fqybusach for support.
