📚 2024 book thread 📚 - I tried it 2023 to vary my genre, 2024 is about enjoyment and headspace - so the majority of my reading will probably be romance... ❤️

If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.
On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.
After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.
We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...
Every year I have a mental reaction to getting bitten by an insect - not sure what it was - it’s not always the first bite each year - I take fexofenadine daily and use anthisan cream once I’ve been bitten but they still blow up to 20cm ish within 24h… why does this happen 🙁

Lots of podcasts (unsurprisingly) discussing COP30 but this is the best I’ve listened to in the last few days because it has a healthy dose of ‘hopeful geography’ within! Recommended subject knowledge update for all geographers 🌎 bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w3ct73…
Driving back from Slough to Manchester tomorrow - any suggestions on a good place to stop? Preferably cheap/free….

Fantastic to have my copy arrive. Thank you to @GeogMum and @Jennnnnn_x for the opportunity to contribute a chapter.
Geography is a subject for all and it is so incredibly important that we support students with #SEND to access our subject.

Two years ago, I was approached by @GeogMum and @Jennnnnn_x about a book on teaching geography in the 21st century 🌍 They asked me if I wanted to write a chapter on how to teach geographical skills in secondary school 📝

Thank you for all the positivity about ‘What is geography teaching, now?’ @Jennnnnn_x & I are delighted to get a book by teachers for teachers out there. Each chapter is crafted by a teacher who has a real passion for the topic covered. @HLearning11to19
Attempting to fit coving in my living room (after also doing the panelling below) and these angles are hard to work with 🤣
